New Haven’s Union Station has been around since the early 1920s. Also known as the New Haven Railroad Station, this transportation hub services tens of thousands of commuters per day. The station has 9 tracks in total, which are split between 4 island style platforms. Transport industry titans like Amtrak and Metro-North service Union Station, allowing visitors to quickly travel through the city of New Haven, the state of Connecticut, and much of the American Northeast Coast.
Union Station’s history is quite colorful. Before this building was constructed, another Union Station used to service New Haven. However, that building (often referred to as the Meadow Street Union Station) was destroyed in a fire. The famous Architect Cass Gilbert was hired to design the current version of Union Station. Ever since then, the citizens of New Haven and tourists from abroad have all come to rely on this location for transportation.
Union Station isn’t just a transit hub, it’s also a showcase of the late Cass Gilbert’s artistic talent. A visitor could spend hours exploring and admiring the station. Special mention goes to Union Station’s lobby, which features scale models of New York, New Haven & Hartford Railroad trains. There are also plenty of things to do just outside of Union Station. New Haven typically receives about 500,000 tourists each year. Most visitors come to see places like Yale university in person, but end up staying for long periods of time because of New Haven’s charming culture. Despite this, New Haven shouldn’t be considered a crowded city by any stretch of the imagination. Visitors will have plenty of breathing room while they travel from one place to the next. However, therein lies the conundrum – New Haven isn’t a crowded city, but it is fairly large. Traveling from one end of the city to another can be a taxing experience, even with the help of the city’s robust public transit system. Luggage Storage Near the Yale Center for British Art
Art aficionados and casual fans alike are all welcome at the Yale Center for British Art. This beloved building first opened its doors to the public in 1974. The late Louis I. Khan designed the Center with a specific vision in mind. He sought to make this building an ideal place for daytime reading by letting in as much natural light as possible. As a result, artificial lights are only ever used during extremely dark days and nights. Overall, the Center has a very ethereal atmosphere – something that can’t entirely be captured with words and pictures alone. Visitors are encouraged to store their things with Bounce before visiting, as the Center has very specific rules concerning luggage.

Convenient to the Met, which does not allow luggage at coat check. Very easy check in and check out process, with lovely people at the front!
This was so cool!!!! Great service, extremely easy to use, and totally affordable! I didn't know where I'd leave my luggage while we explored San Fran, so I easily Googled luggage storage and found this company. At first it was a little odd dropping my bag off at a chocolate store, but the lady at the register was able to immediately pull up my reservation without any problems and then she put a lock on my suitcase and gave me a card to get it back with. She pushed the bag to the back of their storage room and I came back about 6 hours later to pick it up. Great service, I will definitely be using this again when I travel!
Can’t believe I haven’t used this service until now. So easy & convenient. I 100% recommend.
