Located in the middle of the country, Riyadh is the capital of Saudi Arabia and the largest city on the peninsula. With a population of about eight million people, it is the political and business center of the country. In fact, it is the headquarters of most banks and companies, the Royal Court, and the Council of Ministers. But it was not always like this. In the 1940s, King Abdul-Aziz Al Saud took over and decided to modernize the city, building neighborhoods and cities as well as transportation options for its citizens and tourists alike.
The weather in Riyadh is considered to be a hot desert climate. The average high temperature is 92 degrees with an average low temperature of 68 degrees. From May until September, the daytime temps typically go above 100 degrees. If you are not a fan of hot temperatures, you should visit between November and March when the daytime temperatures are in the 80s. Rain is rare, and sun is prominent all year long.
With such warm and sunny weather year-round, outdoor activities are popular in Riyadh. There are more than 30 parks in town, including Thumamah National Park, where you can enjoy bike riding, four wheeling, rock climbing, and even ride some camels. Wadi Namar Park is a beautiful place with a large lake, barbecue pits, and even a waterfall. Heet Cave is also a fun place to visit where you can go diving in an underground lake.
Whether you are in town for business or pleasure, don't be dragging your luggage along with you when you check out the city. In most places, it would not be allowed anyway. Bounce luggage storage has partners in the city where you can leave your belongings for safekeeping while you explore and enjoy Riyadh. Even if you live in town but need a place to store your bags while you go to the park or shopping, this is a great option. Located near transport hubs and attractions, Bounce is convenient, friendly, and safe.

You can also visit the Nofa Wildlife Park on New Mecca Highway, Al Rawda Park on Hafsah Bint Umar Street, or Al Hokair Land on Eastern Ring Branch Road.
There are plenty of ancient buildings, ruins, and grounds in Riyadh. You can see archaeology sites all over the city. Historic districts and oases can also be found in various spots where you can often get a tour. Al Diraiyah and Al Turaif Historic District is a good place for this.
Antiquities Museum: The items found in the Antiquities Museum on Ash Shaich Hasan Ibn are from the Rabdha and Faw excavations by King Saud University. National Museum: This large display of cultural and historical items and collections is a fantastic way to learn more about the city’s history. With two floors of antiques, documents, manuscripts, and rock carvings as well as eight galleries of Arabian art, you will be in awe of the beauty. They even have a life-sized reconstruction of a Nabataean tomb from Madain Saleh.
Masmak Fortress: In the heart of the old city, the Masmak Fortress was built in 1865 and has survived countless takeovers. In fact, it still has the spear head lodged in its door from the takeover by King Abdul-Aziz Al Saud in 1902. What looks like something you would see in a movie is now a museum with exhibits including photos, maps, and artifacts.

Located on Abi Bakr As Siddiq Road, the Middle Eastern ambiance and smell of incense is a nice touch to make your meal even more special.
Turnstone Pizza: If you are not into trying new things, you will be happy to know that there are plenty of pizzerias and burger joints in town as well. Turnstone Pizza on Al Ihsa Street is one of the best according to locals, and has more than just pizza. You can get some pasta, sandwiches, and even dessert.
