About Busch Stadium

Ever since the 1850s, people have called Baseball “America’s Pastime.” For decades, the sport has been played casually by everyday citizens and professionally by some of the nation’s finest athletes. Because of Baseball’s immense popularity in the United States, almost every American city has at least one major Baseball stadium. For St. Louis, Missouri, that venue is Busch Stadium. This amazing Baseball park is the home to the St. Louis Cardinals, by far the city’s most popular Baseball team and MLB franchise. Busch Stadium, also known as Busch Stadium III or the New Busch Stadium, was actually built at the behest of the Cardinals in the early 2000s. The team had needed a new stadium to practice and play at since 1995. However, it wasn’t until 2004 that construction began.

Come April 4th, 2006, Busch Stadium opened to the public. Since then, Busch Stadium has hosted numerous sports events. We say “sports” because Baseball isn’t the only sport that’s played here. Naturally, Busch Stadium has hosted the MLB Playoffs multiple times since it opened. However, Football teams like Chelsea and Manchester City have also played at Busch Stadium. In a way, Busch Stadium isn’t just a baseball park - it’s a multipurpose event hub of epic proportions.

Things to do Near Busch Stadium

On that note, let’s talk about activities. There are plenty of things to do around Busch Stadium that are and aren’t related to baseball. Guests can always buy tickets and watch St. Louis’ sports teams in action. They can also make a day of exploring Busch Stadium and admiring the building’s architecture. Aside from soccer, hockey and college football games are also played at this venue. Busch Stadium also doubles, or triples at this point, as a concert venue; legendary musical acts like Billy Joel, the Dave Matthews Band, Ed Sheeran, Paul McCartney, and U2 have all played here. Last but not least, Busch Stadium is located near several other prominent St. Louis landmarks. While visiting this venue, Bounce highly recommends exploring the following points of interest.

As of 2019, St .Louis has a population of 300,576 citizens. While that number is certainly large, it actually marks a decline in the city’s population. This venue houses a Cowboy Bar, the Cardinals Hall of Fame, the Cardinal Nation restaurant, and the “FOX Sports Midwest Live!” event center. Luggage Storage Near the Gateway Arch National Park

One of the first things that people see when they enter St. Louis is the Gateway Arch. This architectural marvel was designed by Eero Saarinen and Associates in 1947. Decades later, and this landmark remains one of St. Louis’ most beloved monuments. The Gateway Arch National Park lets guests get up close and personal with this landmark. This small parkland features a lake and provides easy access to the Arch. Guests should definitely store their luggage before stopping by.
