Boston North Station Visitor Guide 2021: Everything you need to know

12 May, 2021by Bounce

Boston North Station is a meeting point of both commuter rail and intercity rail for this northeastern city. Connecting four different MBTA rail lines, North Station is also connected to a subway station of the same name that allows rail passengers to easily transfer to the city’s transit system. The station is also located close to TD Garden arena, making it a vital link in the city's entertainment as well as its transit.

North Station has been an integral part of Boston since the late nineteenth century when it was first opened. Undergoing several expansions over the decades, it has grown to become one of the city’s major stations and an important link in the transit network of the entire Northeast. If you find yourself visiting Boston via North Station, it’s a good idea to drop off any heavy bags at a nearby luggage storage service so you can get around more easily.

Boston North Station bag policy

Bags are allowed in this busy rail station, and you’ll see plenty of people carrying luggage with them. The station provides luggage carts that can make it easy to navigate when you bring a lot with you. However, the station itself has no luggage storage facility. Nor does TD Garden, for that matter. If you’re planning to see a game while you’re in town, you’ll have to track down a luggage storage service near Boston North Station. Luckily, you’ll find several in the area that will be happy to take your unneeded bags from you.

Of course, you’ll also find a virtually limitless selection of eateries in the area around North Station. A welcome addition to the local culinary scene is Hub Hall, a food hall just outside the station that is home to 18 different restaurants and bars. Whatever you like to eat, chances are good you’ll find it here.
