Located in the former warehouse district of downtown Minneapolis, Target Field has spearheaded the area's recent restoration. Opened in 2010, this ultramodern stadium harkens back to the old days of baseball grounds. Open to the air, this 40,000 seat arena is the home of the Minnesota Twins and hosts other sporting and entertainment events throughout the year.

There's always something going on at Target Field. But the downtown location of the stadium means that even once the game is over, you'll find plenty to do in the area. Downtown Minneapolis awaits. Drop off your bags at a luggage storage service near Target Field, and the heart of the city will be yours to explore. Whether you're in town for a baseball game, a concert, or some other event, you'll find your trip goes much smoother when you don't carry more than you need to.

Target Field bag policy

Small bags are allowed inside the stadium during games. Soft-sided purses and clutch bags, tote bags, diaper bags, and single compartment drawstring bags are all allowed. Small backpacks are allowed if they are clear. Nothing bigger than 16" by 16" by 8" is allowed, so plan accordingly. Be prepared that any bags you do bring inside are subject to search by security staff.

Often, the easiest thing to do is drop off your bags at a Minneapolis bag storage before you go to the stadium. That way, large bags can be safely stored for you until you're ready to pick them up. Not having to worry about your belongings means you can focus on enjoying the game and your time at Target field.

Target Field food policy

Water, juice, and milk for children are allowed inside Target Field if it's inside a sealed bottle of 32 ounces or less. Food of almost any kind is permitted. The only restrictions are that food containers must be soft-sided and able to fit under your seat, and you can't bring food into any of the lounge or restaurant areas of the stadium. Also, any food that could easily be thrown, such as apples or tomatoes, needs to be sliced.

You're welcome to bring your own food to Target Field, but you don't have to. You'll find dozens of concessions inside the stadium where you can pick up hot dogs, burgers, sandwiches, salads, and even a vegan curry.

Target Field camera policy

Guests are allowed to bring cameras inside the stadium, and there is no limit to the size of camera you can bring. However, tripods and monopods are not permitted. It's also important to make sure you don't obstruct the view of other guests while taking photos. Note that multi-compartment camera bags are not allowed inside and are best left at a luggage locker near Target Field before you visit.

Target Field rules

  • Just about anything that could be used as a weapon is prohibited from Target Field. This includes Frisbees, hard-sided coolers, laser pointers, and lawn chairs. Prohibited items can be surrendered at the gate, but they will not be returned. It's better to take them to a suitcase storage in Minneapolis if you want to keep them.

  • Guests are allowed to keep any foul ball or home run ball that makes it into the stands, but be careful you don't injure yourself or others trying to catch an incoming baseball. Be alert for balls heading into the stands.

  • Target Field is well connected by transit to central Minneapolis. Target Field Station is right outside the stadium and is served by the Northstar train. Target Field also has a light rail station right outside the stadium served by the Green and Blue lines of Minneapolis transit.

Target Field lockers

Target Field is an atmospheric place to catch a ball game. It combines the convenience of an ultramodern stadium with the old school charm of the baseball arenas of yesteryear.
