About Nørreport Station

Norreport station is located in the busy central Copenhagen district of Indre By, but it can be surprisingly easy to miss. That's because the entire large station is buried underground. With connections to the national railway, the commuter S train, and the city's Metro and bus networks, the station is reachable from anywhere in Copenhagen and serves over 165,000 passengers every day.

The station has been a part of Copenhagen's urban landscape since 1918, when it first opened to connect two pre-existing stations. The station was connected to the S train network in 1934, and two Metro lines joined the station in 2002. Throughout its existence, the station has continued to grow to become the important part of the transit system it is today.

The nearby Copenhagen central station may be bigger,  but thanks to its Metro and S train connections, Norreport is busier. And since it is as centrally located as Copenhagen Central, it is as easy to explore the city from Norreport as it is from the larger station.
