About Flamingo Las Vegas
The Flamingo Las Vegas is a world-renowned hotel casino found in the city of Paradise, Nevada, specifically along the famous Las Vegas Strip. Formerly known as The Fabulous Flamingo and Flamingo Hilton Las Vegas, the property is owned and managed by Caesars Entertainment Corporation. The hotel, which was established in 1946, is situated at the corner of Flamingo Road and Las Vegas Boulevard, covers 72,299 square-feet of space, and features 3,460 rooms. The Flamingo’s architecture is a mix of the Streamline Moderne and Art Deco styles and gives off a South Beach vibe.
The Flamingo was one of the first resorts to ever open and operate on the Las Vegas Strip. It currently owns the title of being the oldest resort that is still operational today after The New Frontier was closed in 2007. When it opened in 1946, it was the first casino in the area to not feature an Old West theme. The property’s modern architecture made it stand out from the rest and helped boost its popularity. The hotel sits at a prime location at the strip and is extremely prominent among tourists as it is walking distance from the top attractions. In addition, The Flamingo also has its own Las Vegas Monorail station located at its rear side, which is called the Flamingo and Caesars Palace station.
Fun fact: True to its name and overall theme, The Flamingo Las Vegas features a garden courtyard that functions as a natural habitat for actual flamingos.
