Frequently
asked questions

  • How much does luggage storage cost in Aarhus?

We charge from €5.00 per day (24 hours) for luggage storage in Aarhus.

  • Does Aarhus have luggage lockers?

Yes, but they're not always the best option. Luggage lockers can fill up quickly and may be unavailable when you need them. Some luggage lockers may be too small to fit large or bulky items. Unlike luggage lockers, we don't charge per hour and instead charge a flat rate for 24 hours of storage. We also have partners who watch over your stuff to make sure it's safe, and can answer any questions you may have or give you advice on what to do in Aarhus.

  • How does Bounce luggage storage work?

We partner with local businesses around the world who have secure spaces to store luggage for travelers. Just tell us how many bags you have and when you need storage, and we'll show you convenient places you can keep your stuff safe while you explore.

Booking online is super easy and only takes a couple of minutes. To keep our partners and your stuff safe, we'll show you the address of the store once you book online. When you're ready, head to the store and show the Bounce Partner your booking confirmation so they can take your bags and securely store them right away. Then you can enjoy your day without having to worry about your bags!

To pick up your bags, show the Bounce Partner your booking confirmation and they'll hand over your stuff. That's it!
  • Where is my luggage stored?

We only partner with trusted businesses who have a dedicated, secure place to keep your luggage safe. Some businesses may store luggage behind a counter that's off-limits to customers, while others may have storage rooms or closets for your luggage. But no matter where you choose to leave your luggage, our partners will keep it safe.

  • What can I store with Bounce?

Luggage, backpacks, gym bags, and more! Bounce is like having a personal storage facility for your stuff anywhere you go, so you can leave much more than just luggage with us. Whether you want to store your luggage after checking out of your Airbnb or want to drop off your work bag before hitting happy hour, we've got you covered.

We don't charge extra for oversized items, but some special items might need to be approved before you can store them. For example, surfboards, guitars, car seats, bicycles, or skis take up a lot of space, so let us know if you have them. We can check with the Bounce Partner for you to make sure they have room for your stuff.
  • Is there hourly luggage storage in Aarhus?

Yes, but many companies charge per hour and costs can add up fast. We charge one price for 24 hours of storage, so storing your stuff is more affordable in Aarhus.

  • How long can I leave my luggage with Bounce?

Whether you need storage for a couple of hours or a couple of days, we've got you covered! Just put in the dates and times you need luggage storage and we'll show you all of the available locations on our map. For long-term storage lasting more than a week, reach out to us and we'll help you find a convenient location.

If you're already storing your stuff but you need more time, you can add more time from your booking details page. Just make sure the store will be open and you can get your bags before your new pickup time.
  • How do I change or cancel my booking?

Plans change, we get it! If you need to change or cancel your booking for any reason, the best way to do it is from your booking details page in the Bounce app. You can edit the dates, drop-off and pick-up times, and number of bags. You can also cancel your booking or rebook at a nearby store. If you can't find your booking details, check the email address you used to make your booking. You can change your booking by following the link there, or reach out to us if you need support.

About Aarhus

Located in the geographical center of Denmark, Aarhus is the capital of the Jutland Peninsula. The city proper has a population in excess of 280,000 people, and the wider metropolitan area numbers over 1.3 million residents.

It wasn't always this way. Like many Danish towns, Aarhus began as a fortified Viking settlement. Probably founded sometime in the 8th century, the first written record of the city dates back to 948. This makes it one of the oldest cities in the country.

Aarhus' natural harbor made it an obvious location for a port, and this was the main driver of the city's economy for centuries. Central to trade within Denmark and beyond, the town grew until it was granted market town privileges in 1441. In the 17th century, the port's importance saw the town attacked by Swedish troops during Denmark's war with its neighbor. German forces also occupied it during the 19th century.

As the Industrial Revolution swept through Denmark, Aarhus grew rapidly to become the country's second-biggest city. Nowadays, it is a cultural and economic hub, one of the major ports in the area, and the home of Scandinavia's largest university. As a result, it has the youngest population of any Danish city and is the fastest-growing town in the country.

Things to do in Aarhus

Aarhus is a city that faces the future. But that doesn't mean it has to turn its back on the past. As one of the country's oldest cities with one of its youngest populations, Aarhus offers the best of both past and future to visitors.

  • Step back in time at Den Gamble By. This living museum uses actors to re-create Danish life in the 18th, 19th, and 20th centuries. The authentic historic buildings of the village add to the strange feeling of being transported to the past
  • Visit one of the largest art museums in Europe at ARoS. Focusing mostly on Danish art, this museum gives you a crash course in the country's culture. It's also worth visiting for the ruthlessly modern building and its famous rainbow panorama that gives an exceptional view over the city.
  • Have some fun at Tivoli Friheden. Just like the better-known Tivoli Gardens in the capital Copenhagen, this urban amusement park has roller coasters, rides, games, and plenty of places to eat.
  • See more of Aarhus' past at the stunning Domkirke. This impressive cathedral dates back to the 1200s, and is the biggest church in Denmark. Inside, it contains medieval frescoes and a 15th-century altar that is considered one of the country's artistic treasures.
  • Lose yourself in the lively Latin Quarter. This quaint neighborhood is named after the famous Latin Quarter in Paris. The neighborhood may date back to the 1300s, but it's still one of the liveliest parts of town, especially at night. Explore restaurants, bars, and cafés, and rub shoulders with the locals.

Transit options in Aarhus

  • Aarhus airport is small but offers flights to Copenhagen and to London. A 45-minute bus ride connects the airport with the city.
  • The train from Copenhagen to Aarhus takes around three hours. Long-distance buses also connect the two cities, offering a cheaper way to get to Aarhus.
  • The city is well served by an extensive bus network, and many of the bus routes stop outside the train station, making it easy to reach just about any part of the city.

Luggage storage in Aarhus

Aarhus is a big city, but it's a very walkable one. Also, thanks to its flatness, it's a perfect place to get around by bike, and this is how most locals travel. But whether you choose to get around on foot or on two wheels, you'll want a place to leave your heavy bags.

By partnering with local businesses, Bounce ensures you'll easily find luggage storage in Aarhus. Drop off any size of bags for as long as you need and enjoy your Danish vacation.

Activities and attractions near Aarhus

  • Dokk 1: One of Aarhus's most striking buildings, Dokk 1 is a modern cultural center located in the city's harbor area. Its eye-catching angular design makes the building worth seeing just for its architecture. It houses the city library and also regularly hosts traveling exhibitions. Also, don't forget to check out the world's largest tubular bell inside the building. Every time a baby is delivered in the nearby hospital, the bell chimes. Don't forget to drop off any heavy bags at a luggage storage in Aarhus before you visit.
  • Ebeltoft: See a quieter side of Denmark at the charming coastal village of Ebeltoft. Less than an hour outside Aarhus, this market town with its timbered houses and cobblestone streets is the perfect place to spend an afternoon visiting quirky shops and dining in small family-run restaurants. The beautiful harbor is the ideal place for a stroll, and the town sits close to Mols Berge National Park for extra scenic beauty.
  • Ega Engso: Experience a wilder side of Denmark at Ega Engso. Just outside the city, this artificial lake was created in the 1950s. Since then, it has become an important wildlife habitat, especially for birds. The flocks of white storks that call the lake home are fascinating to see, and there are many bird hides where you can stop for a while and observe the local wildlife. It's also a great place to stretch your legs on the hiking trail around the lake. Make sure to leave any heavy bags at a luggage storage shop in Aarhus before you visit.
