Frequently
asked questions

  • How much does luggage storage cost in Asheville?

We charge from $5.90 per day (24 hours) for luggage storage in Asheville.

  • Does Asheville have luggage lockers?

Yes, but they're not always the best option. Luggage lockers can fill up quickly and may be unavailable when you need them. Some luggage lockers may be too small to fit large or bulky items. Unlike luggage lockers, we don't charge per hour and instead charge a flat rate for 24 hours of storage. We also have partners who watch over your stuff to make sure it's safe, and can answer any questions you may have or give you advice on what to do in Asheville.

  • How does Bounce luggage storage work?

We partner with local businesses around the world who have secure spaces to store luggage for travelers. Just tell us how many bags you have and when you need storage, and we'll show you convenient places you can keep your stuff safe while you explore.

Booking online is super easy and only takes a couple of minutes. To keep our partners and your stuff safe, we'll show you the address of the store once you book online. When you're ready, head to the store and show the Bounce Partner your booking confirmation so they can take your bags and securely store them right away. Then you can enjoy your day without having to worry about your bags!

To pick up your bags, show the Bounce Partner your booking confirmation and they'll hand over your stuff. That's it!
  • Where is my luggage stored?

We only partner with trusted businesses who have a dedicated, secure place to keep your luggage safe. Some businesses may store luggage behind a counter that's off-limits to customers, while others may have storage rooms or closets for your luggage. But no matter where you choose to leave your luggage, our partners will keep it safe.

  • What can I store with Bounce?

Luggage, backpacks, gym bags, and more! Bounce is like having a personal storage facility for your stuff anywhere you go, so you can leave much more than just luggage with us. Whether you want to store your luggage after checking out of your Airbnb or want to drop off your work bag before hitting happy hour, we've got you covered.

We don't charge extra for oversized items, but some special items might need to be approved before you can store them. For example, surfboards, guitars, car seats, bicycles, or skis take up a lot of space, so let us know if you have them. We can check with the Bounce Partner for you to make sure they have room for your stuff.
  • Is there hourly luggage storage in Asheville?

Yes, but many companies charge per hour and costs can add up fast. We charge one price for 24 hours of storage, so storing your stuff is more affordable in Asheville.

  • How long can I leave my luggage with Bounce?

Whether you need storage for a couple of hours or a couple of days, we've got you covered! Just put in the dates and times you need luggage storage and we'll show you all of the available locations on our map. For long-term storage lasting more than a week, reach out to us and we'll help you find a convenient location.

If you're already storing your stuff but you need more time, you can add more time from your booking details page. Just make sure the store will be open and you can get your bags before your new pickup time.
  • How do I change or cancel my booking?

Plans change, we get it! If you need to change or cancel your booking for any reason, the best way to do it is from your booking details page in the Bounce app. You can edit the dates, drop-off and pick-up times, and number of bags. You can also cancel your booking or rebook at a nearby store. If you can't find your booking details, check the email address you used to make your booking. You can change your booking by following the link there, or reach out to us if you need support.

Asheville City Guide

Top Things To Do

Asheville is a North Carolina city that can easily lay claim to having a wow factor plus. There really is something for everyone and then a surplus. Think world-class, and weird, museums, malls so big you could plan a maze from the same layout, and restaurants that take even fine dining to a whole new level.

Museums

There are some very eye-opening museums in Asheville that will really make you think. There are museums that explore the science of sound and the intricacies of the home textile industry, plus a pioneer's farm with an original log cabin that has survived the elements since the 18th century. That's without even mentioning the regular history, science, and art museums in Asheville or the incredible Biltmore Mansion built by George Vanderbilt.

  • Moogseum: It's a strange name for an unusual concept and to immerse yourself in a visit here, you'll need to put your thinking cap on. The Moogseum is dedicated to honoring the life of Bob Moog, the engineer who created electronic music. In the museum, you can learn how electricity is converted to sound, get your mind blown by multi-sensory interactive exhibits, and generally have fun creating your own electronic music.
  • Biltmore Industries Homespun Museum: This small, one-room museum traces the story of how a craft teaching program developed into one of the most prestigious and largest producers of woolen textiles in the world. In the museum, there are looms, photographs, and documents relating to the Biltmore Industries’ successful days and how it went from rags to riches in the cloth trade.
  • Vance Birthplace Museum: If you've ever wondered what it was like to be a pioneer in the early days, you only have to visit the Vance Birthplace Museum to find out. This outdoor museum has seven structures on a plantation that was run by slave labor and details their lives, the life of the plantation owner, and his political life.

Shopping

When you go shopping in Asheville you need to take care not to contract a rare condition known as mall hysteria. Truly the shopping opportunities in this city could drive you wild and send you over the edge of your credit card limit. As the old saying goes, forewarned is forearmed, but it probably won't help one little bit.

  • Historic Biltmore Village: This quaint shopping district was built by George Vanderbilt to house his estate and factory workers. Now converted into stores and boutiques, the historic homes offer a place to shop that has the atmosphere of a rural English village. The majority of goods on show are handcrafted by very talented local artisans or handicrafters from across the country.
  • Asheville Mall: Shopping at Asheville Mall is shopping on a grand scale. This indoor mall has over one hundred and thirty different stores as well as department stores like Belk and Dillards and can boast of being the biggest mall for miles. It's all on one level so maybe getting a golf cart to go round in is not a bad idea.
  • Asheville Outlets: If paying full whack for something tends to put your nose out of joint then the Asheville Outlets mall is the one for you. Here there are seventy-five big-name stores stocked to the hilt with goods that have discount prices. Yes, they may be end-of-line or out-of-season products, but even though everything is cheaper, it's still top quality.

Dining

The food scene in Asheville is something where anything goes. You'll find restaurants serving cuisine from the deep south, from over the border in Mexico, from around Europe, and of course, plenty of all-American even if it has seen a few inventive adaptations before it reaches your plate. Best thing to do is grab a table then sit back and tuck into the diversity.

  • Corner Cottage: The Corner Cottage is an eatery housed in a Victorian-era building in the Biltmore Village. They follow a strict farm-to-table regime so dishes are strongly influenced by the seasons and availability of produce. During Fall for example you can expect dishes to be made from recently harvested root vegetables like beets, but nothing on this menu is set in stone so be prepared for some food surprises.
  • Curate: Sometimes a location of a restaurant is as important as the food they serve. Curate is a Spanish restaurant occupying a stylishly re-vamped 1920s bus depot. They serve traditional tapas as well as larger plates so you can pick what suits your appetite on the day.
  • Tupelo Honey: When you want to dig your teeth into a chunk of fried chicken or eat some shrimp and grits when you're in Asheville, you need to go to Tupelo Honey. They have a full menu featuring only southern food and it's all made from scratch on the premises.
