Frequently
asked questions

  • How much does luggage storage cost in Cardiff?

We charge from £5.10 per day (24 hours) for luggage storage in Cardiff.

  • Does Cardiff have luggage lockers?

Yes, but they're not always the best option. Luggage lockers can fill up quickly and may be unavailable when you need them. Some luggage lockers may be too small to fit large or bulky items. Unlike luggage lockers, we don't charge per hour and instead charge a flat rate for 24 hours of storage. We also have partners who watch over your stuff to make sure it's safe, and can answer any questions you may have or give you advice on what to do in Cardiff.

  • How does Bounce luggage storage work?

We partner with local businesses around the world who have secure spaces to store luggage for travelers. Just tell us how many bags you have and when you need storage, and we'll show you convenient places you can keep your stuff safe while you explore.

Booking online is super easy and only takes a couple of minutes. To keep our partners and your stuff safe, we'll show you the address of the store once you book online. When you're ready, head to the store and show the Bounce Partner your booking confirmation so they can take your bags and securely store them right away. Then you can enjoy your day without having to worry about your bags!

To pick up your bags, show the Bounce Partner your booking confirmation and they'll hand over your stuff. That's it!
  • Where is my luggage stored?

We only partner with trusted businesses who have a dedicated, secure place to keep your luggage safe. Some businesses may store luggage behind a counter that's off-limits to customers, while others may have storage rooms or closets for your luggage. But no matter where you choose to leave your luggage, our partners will keep it safe.

  • What can I store with Bounce?

Luggage, backpacks, gym bags, and more! Bounce is like having a personal storage facility for your stuff anywhere you go, so you can leave much more than just luggage with us. Whether you want to store your luggage after checking out of your Airbnb or want to drop off your work bag before hitting happy hour, we've got you covered.

We don't charge extra for oversized items, but some special items might need to be approved before you can store them. For example, surfboards, guitars, car seats, bicycles, or skis take up a lot of space, so let us know if you have them. We can check with the Bounce Partner for you to make sure they have room for your stuff.
  • Is there hourly luggage storage in Cardiff?

Yes, but many companies charge per hour and costs can add up fast. We charge one price for 24 hours of storage, so storing your stuff is more affordable in Cardiff.

  • How long can I leave my luggage with Bounce?

Whether you need storage for a couple of hours or a couple of days, we've got you covered! Just put in the dates and times you need luggage storage and we'll show you all of the available locations on our map. For long-term storage lasting more than a week, reach out to us and we'll help you find a convenient location.

If you're already storing your stuff but you need more time, you can add more time from your booking details page. Just make sure the store will be open and you can get your bags before your new pickup time.
  • How do I change or cancel my booking?

Plans change, we get it! If you need to change or cancel your booking for any reason, the best way to do it is from your booking details page in the Bounce app. You can edit the dates, drop-off and pick-up times, and number of bags. You can also cancel your booking or rebook at a nearby store. If you can't find your booking details, check the email address you used to make your booking. You can change your booking by following the link there, or reach out to us if you need support.

About Cardiff

The coastal city of Cardiff lies on the northern banks of the Atlantic Ocean’s Bristol Channel, in Wales’ southeastern region. Cardiff serves as the country’s capital and is a hub for industry, commerce, and tourism.

The Cardiff region shows evidence of habitation dating back over 8,000 years, though most of the city’s historic sites were established (relatively) more recently between the 1st and 17th centuries. There are castles, palaces, and other centuries-old landmarks throughout the city, and Cardiff’s world-class museums highlight the region’s past.

Cardiff’s shopping and entertainment options are abundant, with extensive retail districts, performance venues, and sprawling outdoor spaces. Lodging in Cardiff is easy to find, too, and many of the city’s downtown streets are designed to accommodate pedestrians.

Cardiff is a top European travel destination with capital city status and a portside location. The Cardiff Airport is the primary hub for air travel in all of Wales. It services international, continental, and regional flights. Rail and water taxis are standard modes of transportation in Cardiff, and city buses and rail routes run throughout the city and surrounding areas.

You may be in Cardiff for a rugby game at Millennium Stadium or perhaps it’s the science centre Techniquest you want to see. Either way, carrying heavy belongings around needn’t be part of your day. Download the Bounce app, search luggage storage Cardiff, and leave your bags behind.

St. Fagans National Museum of History

This popular Wales museum features a diverse collection of artifacts, photographs, and documents highlighting the region’s history. The museum focuses on joining past times with the present and offers some pretty unique, sometimes interactive exhibits.

During a visit to St. Fagans, you can witness skilled artisans performing traditional blacksmithing and shoemaking. Native farm animals roam portions of the museum’s property, and 18th-century farming techniques are fully displayed. Water features and a gorgeous Italian garden surround the museum and the property’s historic structures, and visitors are welcome to wander the grounds.

St. Fagans National Museum of History bag policy

It’s not specified if your suitcase or backpack can come with you on your visit to the museum, but they do ask that ball games, scooters, bicycles and other large items be left behind. To make your trip easier simply store bags, suitcases and strollers with us for a few hours while you explore the property.

National Museum Cardiff

To learn about dinosaurs, fossils, and an array of fine art, the National Museum Cardiff is the place to be. Visit this multifaceted museum to discover native plants and oceanic creatures, view ancient fossils, and observe some of the best artwork in Wales. Stop for an up-close encounter with a basking shark replica, see a world-record-setting leatherback turtle, and then slip into the on-site National Museum of Art to check out works by Rembrandt, Poussin, Van Gogh, and Cezanne.

Back on the science side, the museum’s Clore Discovery Centre features interactive, kid-friendly exhibits, and is open to visitors on weekends. Don’t worry about breaking up your visit when lunchtime rolls around; the museum has an on-site restaurant and a coffee shop to keep you going.

National Museum Cardiff bag policy

Unlike storage lockers, we can accommodate large bags and will watch over your things as long as you need. Have any questions about our luggage storage service? Contact our customer support team.

Bute Park

This 130-acre green space is one of Cardiff’s best parks, and it’s the place to be when Cardiff weather cooperates. The park is within walking distance of Cardiff Castle, on the eastern banks of the River Taff, so it’s easy to swing by when you’re out seeing the city sights.

As you head to the park for Wales-style relaxation, keep an eye out for Bute Park’s landmarks, including the stoic Gorsedd Stone Circle and the tree-lined path in Cooper’s Field. Nature viewing is top-notch along the park’s Feeder Canal Trail and the Blackweir Arboretum area.

Cardiff Bay Barrage

Start the day with a seaside walk along the Cardiff Bay Barrage. Begin at the Mermaid Quay Mall and, after a 30-minute stroll along the oceanfront path, you’ll arrive at the Penarth Marina. Don’t want to make it a round-trip trek? Catch a water taxi ride back to Mermaid Quay.

Techniquest

Get hands-on with the science and space-themed exhibits at Techniquest. This interactive, family-friendly museum has everything you could need for a few hours of educational fun with the kids. Make sure to check out the planetarium, science theatre, and hands-on exhibits.

Techniquest bag policy

We’re unsure about the bag policy, but taking advantage of our baggage storage is your most convenient option. Create a booking confirmation with one of our partners in the local hotels or local shops to take advantage of our luggage storage facilities. If your plans change, we offer free cancellation as long as you let us know before the time of your booking.

Shopping in Cardiff

Riverside Farmers Market

Roam the Riverside Farmers Market and you’ll find a broad selection of local produce and artisan goods. The market was established in 1988 and now sells local meat, baked treats, and handicrafts. It’s a nice place to shop for food or souvenirs.

St David’s Dewi Sant

This mall brands itself as the best shopping center in Cardiff and is also the third busiest retail complex in all of the UK. An extension was built in 2009 and now the mall offers more than 150 stores, restaurants and cafes.

Royal Arcade

First opening way back in 1858, the Royal Arcade is no doubt the oldest arcade in Cardiff. Aside from shopping, travelers can come here to experience the culture of the mall. It has high glass ceilings and charming architecture. We recommend stopping by even if you don’t plan on buying anything.

Often, shopping means an armful of bags and the desire to keep browsing the stores. Look for our left luggage facilities on the Bounce app to store shopping purchases, backpacks and luggage safely so you can continue on with your day.
