Eindhoven is located in the southern part of the Netherlands and is the fifth-largest city in the country. Written history starts to mention Eindhoven way back in the 13th century but it wasn’t part of the Netherlands until 1629 as it previously occupied by the French.
In the 19th century, the industrial revolution helped take Eindhoven to new heights and the 20th century saw large companies emerge in the city. For example, Van Doorne’s Automobiel Fabriek (DAF) started the city’s shift toward electronics and engineering.
These days, Eindhoven is probably most known as the headquarters of Philips, the electronics company. But, the nearby village of Nuenen is where the world-renowned painter Van Gogh once lived. See – there’s lots of history in this Dutch town.
Eindhoven is also home to a handful of museums that are definitely worth a visit. They include the Van Abbesmuseum located in the Stratumseind district, the Eindhoven Museum near Genniper Park, the Philips Museum and DAF Museum in the city, and the PSV Museum within Philips Stadion.
Public parks in Eindhoven are also a wonderful place to relax. Stop for a picnic at Gernnerper Park or walk through the statue garden at Stadswandelpark.
Iconic landmarks like St. Catherine’s Church or the Evoluon building are both perfect selfie spots and Park Hilaria, which happens annually in August, is a fair-like festival of rides and entertainment that kids and families will love.
Overall, this city in the southern Netherlands is a treasure trove of fun and exploration.
Museum-lovers, in particular, will have a great time in Eindhoven. There’s a surprising amount of notable history bursting from the area and the local museums have many stories to tell about the past of the region.

This was my first time using this service and it worked seamlessly. I had no problems at all dropping my bag off at NYC Racquet Sports and it was just as easy picking it up. This location is a couple blocks from Penn Station, so it was perfect for exploring Manhattan for several hours before catching the train to Newark Airport for a late night flight. Will definitely use this service on future trips!
Really excellent service, right around the corner from A/C/E trains at Penn Station in New York. Popular and busy restaurant, too — but no one kept me waiting to drop off or pick up a bag.
This place is awesome, it’s near Macy’s and other souvenir shops, nearby food outlets too and near the Penn station in New York. This is the best place to leave your luggage for last minute shopping before you head to the airport via Penn station. Plus the Employees are very courteous and kind
