About Victory Field

Baseball is often called “America’s favorite pastime.” Sports like basketball, football, and soccer are undoubtedly popular, but the game of baseball holds a special place in American culture. Cities like Indianapolis, Indiana lend credence to this claim – cities with multiple baseball clubs and baseball stadiums. Victory Field is one of Indianapolis’s most popular stadiums and one of the city’s newest.

Victory Field officially opened on July 11th, 1996, and has remained a staple of Indianapolis ever since. Interestingly enough, there were actually two stadiums that shared the name Victory Field for a time. The Owen J. Busch Stadium was the first to hold the Victory Field named. It served as Indianapolis’s main baseball field for years. The Indianapolis Indians even called the Busch stadium home for about 50 years or so. However, the stadium was named Victory Field after the Allies successfully defeated the Axis during World War II. By 1996, the Victory Field ballpark opened. By 2011, Busch stadium had relinquished its Victory Field moniker and was transformed into an apartment complex, leaving only one Victory Field in Indianapolis.

Victory Field is also located next to several other major Indianapolis attractions. Bounce recommends visiting the following places.

Luggage Storage Near the Indianapolis Motor Speedway

Dubbed the “Racing Capital of the World,” the Indianapolis Motor Speedway is one of the oldest and most popular car racing tracks in the world. This is where the Indianapolis 500 is held, as well as the Brickyard 400. NASCAR also holds its Pennzoil 150 at this historic racing hub.

You can find the Indianapolis Motor Speedway on 4790 W 16th St. If you’re a lifelong car racing fan, there’s no doubt that the Motor Speedway is already on your list. But you should visit even if you aren’t a die-hard diesel lover. There’s so much history, culture, and excitement here that you could very well become a fan after your first visit. Luggage Storage Near the Indianapolis Zoo

Head over to 1200 W Washington St and take a walk on the wild side at the Indianapolis Zoo. This membership-supported zoo has been around since the 1940s. Over the years, the zoo housed numerous animals – more than 3,000 different creatures, to be precise. The Indianapolis Zoo also features a large botanical garden and an aquarium.

Whether you’re traveling alone, in a small group, or with the whole family, you’ll have a great time at the Indianapolis Zoo. It’s worth noting that the Indianapolis Zoo has a bag policy akin to most other zoos. You can carry certain items with you, but you’ll have to leave food items, coolers, and large luggage containers at the door. Conversely, you could store your stuff with Bounce.

The higher up you go, the further and further you’ll climb through time. The museum also houses the 92 County Walk, an art exhibit dedicated to each of Indiana’s counties.

It’s also worth noting that the museum features the largest IMAX screen in the whole state. If you want the ultimate movie-going experience, you’ll have to visit the Indiana State Museum’s IMAX theatre. You can find the entire complex on 650 W Washington St., in the same vicinity as the White River State Park and one of our nearby Bounce locations.
