Frequently
asked questions

  • How much does luggage storage cost in Kansas City?

We charge from $5.90 per day (24 hours) for luggage storage in Kansas City.

  • Does Kansas City have luggage lockers?

Yes, but they're not always the best option. Luggage lockers can fill up quickly and may be unavailable when you need them. Some luggage lockers may be too small to fit large or bulky items. Unlike luggage lockers, we don't charge per hour and instead charge a flat rate for 24 hours of storage. We also have partners who watch over your stuff to make sure it's safe, and can answer any questions you may have or give you advice on what to do in Kansas City.

  • How does Bounce luggage storage work?

We partner with local businesses around the world who have secure spaces to store luggage for travelers. Just tell us how many bags you have and when you need storage, and we'll show you convenient places you can keep your stuff safe while you explore.

Booking online is super easy and only takes a couple of minutes. To keep our partners and your stuff safe, we'll show you the address of the store once you book online. When you're ready, head to the store and show the Bounce Partner your booking confirmation so they can take your bags and securely store them right away. Then you can enjoy your day without having to worry about your bags!

To pick up your bags, show the Bounce Partner your booking confirmation and they'll hand over your stuff. That's it!
  • Where is my luggage stored?

We only partner with trusted businesses who have a dedicated, secure place to keep your luggage safe. Some businesses may store luggage behind a counter that's off-limits to customers, while others may have storage rooms or closets for your luggage. But no matter where you choose to leave your luggage, our partners will keep it safe.

  • What can I store with Bounce?

Luggage, backpacks, gym bags, and more! Bounce is like having a personal storage facility for your stuff anywhere you go, so you can leave much more than just luggage with us. Whether you want to store your luggage after checking out of your Airbnb or want to drop off your work bag before hitting happy hour, we've got you covered.

We don't charge extra for oversized items, but some special items might need to be approved before you can store them. For example, surfboards, guitars, car seats, bicycles, or skis take up a lot of space, so let us know if you have them. We can check with the Bounce Partner for you to make sure they have room for your stuff.
  • Is there hourly luggage storage in Kansas City?

Yes, but many companies charge per hour and costs can add up fast. We charge one price for 24 hours of storage, so storing your stuff is more affordable in Kansas City.

  • How long can I leave my luggage with Bounce?

Whether you need storage for a couple of hours or a couple of days, we've got you covered! Just put in the dates and times you need luggage storage and we'll show you all of the available locations on our map. For long-term storage lasting more than a week, reach out to us and we'll help you find a convenient location.

If you're already storing your stuff but you need more time, you can add more time from your booking details page. Just make sure the store will be open and you can get your bags before your new pickup time.
  • How do I change or cancel my booking?

Plans change, we get it! If you need to change or cancel your booking for any reason, the best way to do it is from your booking details page in the Bounce app. You can edit the dates, drop-off and pick-up times, and number of bags. You can also cancel your booking or rebook at a nearby store. If you can't find your booking details, check the email address you used to make your booking. You can change your booking by following the link there, or reach out to us if you need support.

Store Your Luggage Around Kansas City With Bounce

The largest city in Missouri, Kansas City is in the northwestern section of Missouri, right on the border of Kansas. There, you can find its sister city, Kansas City, Kansas. With a population of almost 500,000, it is also the 38th most populated city in the United States. The city was established back in the 1700s when European Etienne de Veniard settled nearby. However, the city would not become official until 1853 when it was named after the nearby Kansas River.

Kansas City has over 240 individual neighborhoods, more than a dozen universities and colleges, and 221 parks. The parks include over two dozen lakes and almost 160 miles of trails to explore and enjoy. These trails hold 122 monuments and 48 fountains along with other sculptures, gardens, and attractions. If you want to play some golf, there are five public golf courses to choose from as well.

If you want to learn more about the city, take a tour of one of the many museums, see the Kansas City Zoo, or visit some art galleries and theaters in town. Some of the main attractions include Oceans of Fun water park, Worlds of Fun amusement park, and a plethora of jazz clubs and other musical entertainment. You can even visit one of the fabulous beaches in the city, but don’t forget the sunscreen.

Museums

Kansas City has over 50 museums, memorials, and historical sites to visit. Make sure you make an itinerary, so you know where you want to go. From the historic Kansas City Museum to the unique Museum of Illusions, there is something for everyone to enjoy.

  • National Frontier Trails Museum: As the only museum in the United States dedicated to the history of the Western Trails, this place has a lot of information to absorb. Be sure to bring your camera because there are real covered wagons, artifacts found along the trails, and over 2,500 original journals of trail accounts.
  • Money Museum: Do you like money? Go to the Money Museum over at Crown Center on Memorial Drive. You can pick up a gold bar worth $400 thousand and see a 450-piece collection of coins from the Harry S. Truman Library. Enjoy a guided tour or explore on your own. Then you can go next door and see the Liberty Memorial.
  • Arabia Steamboat Museum: Like a time capsule from the 1800s, the Arabia Steamboat Museum has all of the cargo from the ship that sank when it hit a tree snag in 1856 on the Missouri River. The ship was full of over 200 tons of supplies for the pioneer settlements and stores, so there are thousands of artifacts to see. You can find it on Grand Boulevard just a few blocks from the river.

Shopping

Be sure to drop your luggage off with one of our Bounce partners because you will need both hands to carry all your purchases. Shopping is a popular activity in Kansas City, and you will find malls, shops, and department stores to peruse.

  • Malls: Country Club Plaza on Broadway is a 15-block section of stores and diners with more than 150 shops and eateries such as The Gap, Bath & Body Works, Shake Shack, and the Kona Grill. Fountains and sculptures are also dotted around the plaza, making for a delightful walk around. Other malls include Crown Center on Grand Boulevard, Midway Shopping Center on State Avenue, and Westport Mall on Westport Road.
  • Antiques: For antique lovers, there are a group of antique stores along West 13th and Hickory Streets, including Bottoms Up Antique Market, the Red Shed, Nook and Cranny, Rustic Vintage Rose, Stuffology, and Good JuJu. For a more unique collection, visit the Weird Stuff Antique Store on West 9th Street. You can get a giant carrot, a snakeskin radio, and more.
  • Souvenirs: Looking for souvenirs? If you want something made locally, go to Made in KC Flagship Store on East 18th Street. They have everything from t-shirts to face masks. Another shop called the Best of Kansas City on West Pershing Road has gift baskets, books, clothing, and more. And head over to the Little Shop Next Door on State Line Road for some cute and unique KC items.

Dining

You probably already know that Kansas City is famous for its BBQ, but did you know they also have some of the best seafood in the Midwest? They are pretty good at sushi, Indian food, and Asian cuisine as well. And if you want pizza, burgers, or tacos, you’ll find that too.

  • Barbecue Joints: Jack Stack Barbecue on Holmes Road is famous for its ribs, and their barbecue sauce is a favorite for many locals. For the best brisket and macaroni and cheese, head to Q39 Midtown on West 39th Street. And BB’s Lawnside Bar-b-que on East 85th Street has awesome pulled pork, beans, and ribs.
  • Fine Dining: Gordon Ramsay’s is famous for its television show but also for its beef wellington and sticky toffee pudding. You can find this amazing establishment at Harrah’s Casino on Riverboat Drive. If you would rather have some lobster, shrimp, oysters, or any other seafood, head to Eddie V’s Prime Seafood on West 47th Street. Bluestem in Westport Mall has won numerous awards for the Best Chef in the Midwest, so you have to go there and try anything on the menu.
  • Dessert Food: For some of the fanciest and tastiest artisanal chocolate in the world, stop in at Christopher Elbow Artisanal Chocolates on McGee Street. The chocolates are so beautiful you may not want to eat them. If you are looking for ice cream, Betty Rae’s on Wornall Road is well-known for delicious and unique flavors. But if you want a cupcake, try Cupcake A La Mode just down the street on Wornall.
