Leeds is the third busiest railway station in the UK outside of London. Serving an impressive 30 million passengers a year, the station is an important part of the country's railway infrastructure. It provides a link not only to the north of England but also to Scotland. This makes it the busiest station in the north of England. With 17 platforms and a huge amount of shops, cafés, bars, and supermarkets, Leeds Station is almost a miniature city in itself.
The Industrial Revolution was born in the north of England, and so the railways came to Leeds early. The first station in the city was built in 1834. Another station was opened in 1854, and the third, known as New Station, opened in 1869. This station eventually became Leeds City railway station in 1938 and remains the main station in the city today.
The station underwent a major redesign in 1967, and then another in 2002. A new glass roof was installed to provide greater light to the platforms, and the shopping area was significantly redesigned. As a result, this very old train station feels quite modern as it continues to serve the city and the region.
Leeds station is located right in the heart of the city, so you won't need to go far to find everything you need. From the moment you step outside the doors of the station, you'll be within steps of most of this northern city's main attractions.

See the historic heart of the city at Leeds city square. Just a short walk north of the train station, this public space is surrounded by imposing 19th-century buildings, along with more modern architecture. There are also plenty of pubs and cafés where you can take a break.
Shop like a local at Kirkgate Market. Located in the center of the city, this lively open-air market is the perfect place to pick up food and souvenirs and interact with local traders and shoppers.

Explore the history of warfare at the Royal Armories Museum. This national museum is devoted to weaponry from every period in British history, and is a fascinating place to spend a rainy afternoon among crossbows, swords, and machine guns.
As a regional hub for the north of England, Leeds station is well-connected to every major city in the UK. As well as intercity trains from other major UK metropolises, Leeds is a hub for smaller regional lines to towns throughout the north of England.
Bus 757 connects Leeds Bradford airport to the train station and the city center. You can also reach Manchester International Airport by train in around an hour and a half.
Leeds Station functions as the hub for the city's transit network. Five bus stands outside the station serve a number of the city's bus routes such as 4, 5, 10, 16, 16a, and more.
Thanks to its location in the center of the city, Leeds Station makes an excellent gateway to begin exploring the city. And although Leeds is by no means a small town, many of its main attractions are close enough together that you can easily walk between them.

Convenient to the Met, which does not allow luggage at coat check. Very easy check in and check out process, with lovely people at the front!
This was so cool!!!! Great service, extremely easy to use, and totally affordable! I didn't know where I'd leave my luggage while we explored San Fran, so I easily Googled luggage storage and found this company. At first it was a little odd dropping my bag off at a chocolate store, but the lady at the register was able to immediately pull up my reservation without any problems and then she put a lock on my suitcase and gave me a card to get it back with. She pushed the bag to the back of their storage room and I came back about 6 hours later to pick it up. Great service, I will definitely be using this again when I travel!
Can’t believe I haven’t used this service until now. So easy & convenient. I 100% recommend.
I used Bounce during a recent trip to NYC, and I was pleasantly surprised at the ease and convenience of the process. To be honest, at first, I was very apprehensive. The thought of leaving your stuff at a random store, in a place where you are not from and you don't know whether is safe or not, it doesn't matter if anyone gives it a seal of approval, its difficult to be completely comfortable with the idea. However, I was very glad to be proven wrong. The place I chose was a great, clean bodega/deli in Soho and they were very responsive and the whole process felt very seamless. It was our last day in NYC and we had the full day before leaving the city, however our Airbnb was on the upper east side so we did not want to have to go back and forth. I would definitely recommend Bounce for travelers, especially when you need a place to just store your luggage for the day. The price could not be beat (since its for the whole day) and I will definitely be using this again!
Fantastic experience with Bounce! Stored a bag at the Grand Central location and on my last day at the 9/11 Memorial location. Both locations had friendly, efficient staff that were helpful and made everything very easy. Such a great option if your hotel isn't ready or you don't want the hassle of a bag in the city. Great, safe option. Thanks Bounce!
