The East Japan Railway Company operates the Narita Station. Narita Station is an ideal access point for travel to Narita International Airport, as well as other destinations all over Japan. The JR East Narita Station and the Keisei Narita Station both service the Narita area. One station is just for JR railway travelers, while the other is focused more closely on commuter and local traffic. Naritasan Omotesando Street

This winding, beautiful street offers you the chance to shop, enjoy local cuisine, and take in the beauty of the surrounding park area as you walk to Naritasan Shinsho-ji Temple. Naritasan Shinsho-ji Temple was founded in 940 and it is one of the most incredible examples of a tiered, pagoda-style temple in all of Japan. The grounds around the temple are very impressive as well. You will want to remember that this is an active place of worship and be respectful of those engaging in these activities during your visit.

Naritasan Park

This huge park is located just beyond the Naritasan Shinsho-Ji Temple. There are many ponds here with koi in them as well as walking paths, beautiful vegetation, and lovely places to sit down and rest. the park covers 165,000 meters, so you can spend quite a bit of time here if you wish.

Sawara

This charming little town is quite close to Narita, and it is often referred to as "Little Edo." The Edo period of Japan has never ended here, and this can be the perfect addition to your Japan trip. Narita Station is nestled right in the heart of some of the most authentic Japanese architecture and cultural opportunities, and Sawara is one of the many to explore in the area.

Airport travel from Narita Station

You can access the Narita Line Airport Branch train from Narita Station and get to the Narita International Airport with ease. The ride takes about 15 minutes and will cost you the equivalent of $1-$2. If you want to head to Haneda Airport in the Tokyo area, you can start your journey here in Narita as well.

Getting around Narita from Narita Station

Suigo Sawara Aquatic Botanic Garden

This gorgeous botanical garden is not far from Sawara, and you can combine efforts to see both of them when you take the trip to Sawara. The best time to visit is in June when the 1.5 million irises bloom. There are lots of places to walk and look at the scenery here as well. Aeon Mall

This huge mall is one of many operated by a large company with malls all over Japan. The mall offers lots of local shops as well as anchor stores and there is an arcade and food court here, too. You can either take bus AEON TOWN Narita Tomisato for 15 minutes from the station or if you have a car, it's about a 10-minute drive.

Chiba Prefectural Boso-no-Mura

This open-air museum preserves the traditions and daily lives of those who lived in Japan during the Edo period. You can come here to see demonstrations of farming, daily life, and Samurai practices. History buffs will love this experience and kids should find it to be engaging as well.

Try on traditional armor, engage in weaving and paper-making, and check out the various seasonal offerings that are provided to commemorate holidays and days of note.

To get to the museum, hop on the Misatodai Line at take a ride of about 30 minutes (18 stops). Alternatively, by car, the drive takes 20 minutes.
