At first glance, one might think that Gare du Palais is a castle of some sort. In reality, it’s one of the most frequently used train and bus stations in Québec City. Gare du Palais (or “Palace Station” in English,) was built centuries ago, in 1915. However, records indicate that there were plans to build Gare du Palais back in 1850, at least. Esteemed Architect H. E. Prindle drafted the original designs for Palace Station. From the get-go, it was clear that Prindle had something special in mind for this project.
Prindle was inspired by the architecture of Loire Valley and wanted to give Gare du Palais a “Château de la Loire” aesthetic. This is the reason why this building looks more like an ornate castle or a mansion than a train station. Gare du Palais is easily one of Québec City’s most iconic landmarks; a visit to “la Capitale Nationale” isn’t complete without a quick stroll through the station. Guests are also more than welcome to immortalize their visit with pictures and videos of Gare du Palais.
One might not think that there are many activities to do at a train station. Normally, they’d be right. However, Gare du Palais isn’t an ordinary train station by any means. The interior of Gare du Palais is lined with stained-glass murals and statues of all kinds. A visitor could spend an entire afternoon simply admiring the artistry of. Guests can also participate in the act of “railfanning.”This activity simply consists of watching and admiring trains as they arrive and depart from the station. Gare du Palais is also located near several of Québec City’s biggest attractions. While visiting Gare du Palais, Bounce recommends that guests check out the following points of interest.

As of 2017, Québec’s population has exceeded the 542,298 mark. About 4.6 million tourists visit the beautiful National Capital each year. About 1.1 million of those visitors hail from countries outside of Canada. On the one hand, Québec City is a melting pot where people from all around the world can meet each other. Convenient to the Met, which does not allow luggage at coat check. Very easy check in and check out process, with lovely people at the front!
This was so cool!!!! Great service, extremely easy to use, and totally affordable! I didn't know where I'd leave my luggage while we explored San Fran, so I easily Googled luggage storage and found this company. At first it was a little odd dropping my bag off at a chocolate store, but the lady at the register was able to immediately pull up my reservation without any problems and then she put a lock on my suitcase and gave me a card to get it back with. She pushed the bag to the back of their storage room and I came back about 6 hours later to pick it up. Great service, I will definitely be using this again when I travel!
Can’t believe I haven’t used this service until now. So easy & convenient. I 100% recommend.
