The Santa Lucia station is a railway station located in Santiago, the capital of the South American nation of Chile. It is an underground station that serves for Santiago Metro, the city’s main railway system, and is nestled between the Universidad de Chile and Universidad Catolica stations. The etymology of the station’s name is due to its location on the southern side of Santa Lucia Hill. In 1541, the conqueror Pedro de Valdivia discovered Santiago on the bottom of a hill. He decided to rename the hill as Santa Lucia to pay respects to Christian martyr Saint Lucy.
The Santa Lucia station was established on March 31, 1977, as a part of the extension of the La Moneda to Salvador line. Situated on Avenida Libertador General Bernardo O’Higgins, the station’s location is central and has a mix of educational, residential, and business areas and receives a steady flow of passengers, with an increase in numbers during the rush hours of morning and afternoon. The station is also a gateway to some of Santiago’s finest landmarks and attractions such as the Santa Lucia Hill and the National Library of Chile, which are all a short walk away from the station.
Fun fact: One of the first artworks to be displayed in the station is the Azulejos Para Santiago and was given by the government of Portugal.

Luggage Storage near Cerro San Cristobal
The Cerro San Cristobal is a hill found in northern Santiago and is one of the city’s most frequented attractions. The spot, which was named by Spanish conquerors after Saint Christopher, rises over Santiago and is among the best viewpoints in the city. At the top of the hill are several points of interest, such as an observatory, a sanctuary devoted to the Immaculate Conception, and an amphitheater where mass is held. Within the complex, you can also find the city’s largest park – the Santiago Metropolitan Park – as well as other cool spots like the National Zoo, swimming pools and a Japanese garden. Widely considered to be the historical center of the city of Santiago, the Plaza de Armas is a buzzing public square and one of the city’s most interesting attractions. The area is lined with palm trees and surrounded by numerous historic sites and buildings, including the Historical Museum (formerly the Royal Court Palace), the Central Post Office, and the lovely Metropolitan Cathedral. Both locals and tourists frequent the square as it is an excellent place to soak up the city’s culture, relax, enjoy various activities and even people-watch. Luggage Storage near Museo de la Memoria y los Derechos Humanos
While Santiago boasts a wide selection of world-class museums, the Museo de la Memoria y los Derecho Humanos (also known as Museum of Memory and Human Rights) is definitely unlike any other museum in the city. Not for the faint of heart, the facility serves as a memorial to the Chileans who died and whose rights were abused during the Pinochet dictatorship, which lasted from 1973 to 1990. Established in 2010, the museum contains artifacts that existed during the horrific period, including torture devices, statements from survivors, and the prisoners’ letters to their loved ones. A visit to the Museo de la Memoria y los Derechos Humanos is both a chilling and enlightening experience as it helps bring cultural awareness to the nation’s dark past. Guests are not allowed to bring large bags or backpacks inside the museum. Instead, find a Bounce location nearby and deposit your luggage there.

This was my first time using this service and it worked seamlessly. I had no problems at all dropping my bag off at NYC Racquet Sports and it was just as easy picking it up. This location is a couple blocks from Penn Station, so it was perfect for exploring Manhattan for several hours before catching the train to Newark Airport for a late night flight. Will definitely use this service on future trips!
Really excellent service, right around the corner from A/C/E trains at Penn Station in New York. Popular and busy restaurant, too — but no one kept me waiting to drop off or pick up a bag.
This place is awesome, it’s near Macy’s and other souvenir shops, nearby food outlets too and near the Penn station in New York. This is the best place to leave your luggage for last minute shopping before you head to the airport via Penn station. Plus the Employees are very courteous and kind
