Frequently
asked questions

  • How much does luggage storage cost in Trieste?

We charge from €4.30 per day (24 hours) for luggage storage in Trieste.

  • Does Trieste have luggage lockers?

Yes, but they're not always the best option. Luggage lockers can fill up quickly and may be unavailable when you need them. Some luggage lockers may be too small to fit large or bulky items. Unlike luggage lockers, we don't charge per hour and instead charge a flat rate for 24 hours of storage. We also have partners who watch over your stuff to make sure it's safe, and can answer any questions you may have or give you advice on what to do in Trieste.

  • How does Bounce luggage storage work?

We partner with local businesses around the world who have secure spaces to store luggage for travelers. Just tell us how many bags you have and when you need storage, and we'll show you convenient places you can keep your stuff safe while you explore.

Booking online is super easy and only takes a couple of minutes. To keep our partners and your stuff safe, we'll show you the address of the store once you book online. When you're ready, head to the store and show the Bounce Partner your booking confirmation so they can take your bags and securely store them right away. Then you can enjoy your day without having to worry about your bags!

To pick up your bags, show the Bounce Partner your booking confirmation and they'll hand over your stuff. That's it!
  • Where is my luggage stored?

We only partner with trusted businesses who have a dedicated, secure place to keep your luggage safe. Some businesses may store luggage behind a counter that's off-limits to customers, while others may have storage rooms or closets for your luggage. But no matter where you choose to leave your luggage, our partners will keep it safe.

  • What can I store with Bounce?

Luggage, backpacks, gym bags, and more! Bounce is like having a personal storage facility for your stuff anywhere you go, so you can leave much more than just luggage with us. Whether you want to store your luggage after checking out of your Airbnb or want to drop off your work bag before hitting happy hour, we've got you covered.

We don't charge extra for oversized items, but some special items might need to be approved before you can store them. For example, surfboards, guitars, car seats, bicycles, or skis take up a lot of space, so let us know if you have them. We can check with the Bounce Partner for you to make sure they have room for your stuff.
  • Is there hourly luggage storage in Trieste?

Yes, but many companies charge per hour and costs can add up fast. We charge one price for 24 hours of storage, so storing your stuff is more affordable in Trieste.

  • How long can I leave my luggage with Bounce?

Whether you need storage for a couple of hours or a couple of days, we've got you covered! Just put in the dates and times you need luggage storage and we'll show you all of the available locations on our map. For long-term storage lasting more than a week, reach out to us and we'll help you find a convenient location.

If you're already storing your stuff but you need more time, you can add more time from your booking details page. Just make sure the store will be open and you can get your bags before your new pickup time.
  • How do I change or cancel my booking?

Plans change, we get it! If you need to change or cancel your booking for any reason, the best way to do it is from your booking details page in the Bounce app. You can edit the dates, drop-off and pick-up times, and number of bags. You can also cancel your booking or rebook at a nearby store. If you can't find your booking details, check the email address you used to make your booking. You can change your booking by following the link there, or reach out to us if you need support.

About Trieste

Perched on a stretch of land in Italy's northeastern corner is the port city of Trieste. The capital of the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region, Trieste sits only a few miles from Italy's border with Slovenia and roughly 30 miles from Croatia. Trieste is known for its array of historic monuments and its tranquil seafront, which overlooks the Gulf of Trieste. The city is easily reachable with Trieste Centrale railway station and Trieste – Friuli Venezia Giulia Airport connecting the city regionally and internationally.

Trieste was founded around 2,200 years ago by Romans under the command of Julius Caesar. Due to its location near Italy's historic borders with Austria-Hungary and Yugoslavia, Trieste has struggled with territorial disputes for much of its existence. These disputes are most notable in the aftermath of World War II when the UN devised the Free Territory of Trieste, which eventually ended with Trieste becoming part of an autonomous region in the 1960s.

Today, Trieste has a mixed heritage resulting in a unique culture coupled with some amazing natural sights and fascinating monuments. These features make Trieste an idyllic vacation destination.

Attractions and activities in Trieste

  • Cattedrale di San Giusto Martire: Trieste Cathedral is a must for anybody interested in the area's history. Deemed a minor basilica in the late 19th century, this Roman Catholic cathedral dates back as far as the 6th century, with parts of the original structure belonging to a Roman gateway known as a propylaeum. Some of the most famous features of the cathedral's interior include the original mosaic floor by the entrance and lavish Gothic rose stained glass window. Tourists flock to admire the cathedral's many religious mosaics, many of which date back to the 12th and 13th centuries. You won't want to wheel heavy suitcases through this historic cathedral, so drop by a Trieste luggage storage service before your visit.
  • Grotta Gigante: One of the best natural wonders in the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region is the Grotta Gigante. At roughly 350 feet high and 430 feet long, Grotta Gigante held the world record for being the largest show cave for 15 years. Visitors can take a guided tour of this vast cave, with over 500 steps leading down over 370 feet below the surface. Inside the main cave, you'll find an array of rock formations, including glistening stalactites and stalagmites. Touring the cave takes around an hour and a half and is a great way to cool down on a scorching day, with the temperature in the cave staying at 51 degrees Fahrenheit. You'll want to travel light while exploring this massive cave, so check in at a Trieste luggage storage service first.
  • Vittoria Light:  Dominating Trieste's skyline is the Vittoria Light. This active lighthouse sits upon the hill of Gretta and, at over 220 feet tall, is one of the world's tallest lighthouses. Construction of the lighthouse began in the late 1920s to commemorate sailors lost in battle during World War I. The lighthouse is composed of white stone slabs from nearby mountains and is topped with a dome featuring a statue by Giovanni Mayer known as Winged Victory. Buried below the lighthouse is the anchor from the battleship Audace, which sank during World War II. Despite being an active lighthouse, visitors can tour the interior on the weekends, and while they can't climb to the top, they visit a terrace that boasts some of the best views of Trieste around.
