The original town that is now Vilnius was constructed in the 10th century and was made the capital of Lithuania by Grand Duke Gediminas. Over the following centuries, Vilnius became an important center for industry, with the arrival of the printing press in the 16th century. Historically, Vilnius had a prominent Jewish community, which was all but destroyed by the German occupation during the Second World War.
Today, Vilnius has one of the most interesting cultures across the Baltic states and features centuries-old buildings and several intriguing museums.

Gediminas' Tower: Among the most important historic buildings in Lithuania, Gediminas' Tower is a must-see while in Vilnius. Originally built at the start of the 15th century by Grand Duke Vytautas, Gediminas' Tower is the last remaining section of the Upper Castle complex. Gediminas' Tower is seen as an important symbol of Lithuania, with the Lithuanian flag raised for the first time atop the tower in 1919. The tower has also appeared on Lithuania's currency, litas.
Perched high atop a hill, visitors can either hike to the tower or take an elevator. You're also able to tour the inside of the three-story tower, which includes displays showing what the original castle would've looked like before it was destroyed. From atop the tower, you can enjoy sublime panoramas of Vilnius. You won't want to lug anything heavy up the hill to Gediminas' Tower, so visit a Vilnius luggage storage service beforehand.
Trakai Island Castle: Located about 20 miles from Vilnius on an island in the middle of Lake Galvė, Trakai Castle is one of Lithuania's most incredible structures. Similar to Gediminas' Tower, Trakai Castle was built in the early 15th century by Grand Duke Vytautas the Great and was one of the most important castles in the Grand Duchy of Lithuania. This medieval Gothic masterpiece fell into disrepair during the 17th and 18th centuries and had to be rebuilt by the Lithuanian government after the Second World War.
Since the 1960s, tourists have been able to take tours of Trakai Castle, which includes the Trakai Castle Museum. As well as the castle itself, the museum contains hundreds of artifacts recovered from the original castle, including furniture, glasswork, weapons, armor, and much more.
Vichy Water Park: If you're looking for a family-friendly attraction near Vilnius, consider the Vichy Water Park. This Polynesian-themed water park is indoors, making it ideal for year-round fun. You'll find several exhilarating waterslides at Vichy Water Park which are sure to get your adrenaline pumping. There's plenty for kids to enjoy too, with a water playground and lazy river.
You can also have a relaxing day out at this water park, thanks to the massage salon, jacuzzis, saunas, and more. During your visit, enjoy a cocktail while in the pool at the Mix Water Bar, or have a family meal at Oat Side The Box. You won't want to bring any large bags to the Vichy Water Park, so book a Vilnius luggage storage service before visiting.

This was my first time using this service and it worked seamlessly. I had no problems at all dropping my bag off at NYC Racquet Sports and it was just as easy picking it up. This location is a couple blocks from Penn Station, so it was perfect for exploring Manhattan for several hours before catching the train to Newark Airport for a late night flight. Will definitely use this service on future trips!
Really excellent service, right around the corner from A/C/E trains at Penn Station in New York. Popular and busy restaurant, too — but no one kept me waiting to drop off or pick up a bag.
This place is awesome, it’s near Macy’s and other souvenir shops, nearby food outlets too and near the Penn station in New York. This is the best place to leave your luggage for last minute shopping before you head to the airport via Penn station. Plus the Employees are very courteous and kind
