• Armenian Genocide Museum: Founded in 1995, this is one of the most important and notable museums in Yerevan. As its name suggests, the museum is focused on commemorating the over 1.5 million Armenians killed during the Ottoman Empire’s genocide in 1915. More than just a memorial, the museum also gives guests a look into the country's dark past, bringing awareness to prevent a similar occurrence in the future. • Armenian cuisine: The local cuisine uses Armenian cooking techniques that have been passed on for generations and mainly uses locally-sourced ingredients.
