Frequently
asked questions

  • How much does luggage storage cost in Algeciras?

We charge from €4.30 per day (24 hours) for luggage storage in Algeciras.

  • Does Algeciras have luggage lockers?

Yes, but they're not always the best option. Luggage lockers can fill up quickly and may be unavailable when you need them. Some luggage lockers may be too small to fit large or bulky items. Unlike luggage lockers, we don't charge per hour and instead charge a flat rate for 24 hours of storage. We also have partners who watch over your stuff to make sure it's safe, and can answer any questions you may have or give you advice on what to do in Algeciras.

  • How does Bounce luggage storage work?

We partner with local businesses around the world who have secure spaces to store luggage for travelers. Just tell us how many bags you have and when you need storage, and we'll show you convenient places you can keep your stuff safe while you explore.

Booking online is super easy and only takes a couple of minutes. To keep our partners and your stuff safe, we'll show you the address of the store once you book online. When you're ready, head to the store and show the Bounce Partner your booking confirmation so they can take your bags and securely store them right away. Then you can enjoy your day without having to worry about your bags!

To pick up your bags, show the Bounce Partner your booking confirmation and they'll hand over your stuff. That's it!
  • Where is my luggage stored?

We only partner with trusted businesses who have a dedicated, secure place to keep your luggage safe. Some businesses may store luggage behind a counter that's off-limits to customers, while others may have storage rooms or closets for your luggage. But no matter where you choose to leave your luggage, our partners will keep it safe.

  • What can I store with Bounce?

Luggage, backpacks, gym bags, and more! Bounce is like having a personal storage facility for your stuff anywhere you go, so you can leave much more than just luggage with us. Whether you want to store your luggage after checking out of your Airbnb or want to drop off your work bag before hitting happy hour, we've got you covered.

We don't charge extra for oversized items, but some special items might need to be approved before you can store them. For example, surfboards, guitars, car seats, bicycles, or skis take up a lot of space, so let us know if you have them. We can check with the Bounce Partner for you to make sure they have room for your stuff.
  • Is there hourly luggage storage in Algeciras?

Yes, but many companies charge per hour and costs can add up fast. We charge one price for 24 hours of storage, so storing your stuff is more affordable in Algeciras.

  • How long can I leave my luggage with Bounce?

Whether you need storage for a couple of hours or a couple of days, we've got you covered! Just put in the dates and times you need luggage storage and we'll show you all of the available locations on our map. For long-term storage lasting more than a week, reach out to us and we'll help you find a convenient location.

If you're already storing your stuff but you need more time, you can add more time from your booking details page. Just make sure the store will be open and you can get your bags before your new pickup time.
  • How do I change or cancel my booking?

Plans change, we get it! If you need to change or cancel your booking for any reason, the best way to do it is from your booking details page in the Bounce app. You can edit the dates, drop-off and pick-up times, and number of bags. You can also cancel your booking or rebook at a nearby store. If you can't find your booking details, check the email address you used to make your booking. You can change your booking by following the link there, or reach out to us if you need support.

Store your luggage around Algeciras with Bounce

Spain doesn't get much further south than this. Algeciras, located across the bay from the Rock of Gibraltar, is almost the southernmost point in Spain. Go any further south, and you'd find yourself in Africa. And that's what many people do, taking the ferry from Algeciras to Tangier.

But Algeciras offers more than a way to get somewhere else. This port city is rich in historical interest and possibly even richer in beautiful natural environments to explore. Although it doesn't get the attention of larger Spanish cities, Algeciras makes a great place to take a vacation, and it's definitely somewhere you should add to your list. But be warned that Algeciras is at least eight hours from Barcelona Franca Station by train and even longer by bus.

Before you go exploring Algeciras, though, it's a good idea to leave your bags behind at local left luggage facilities. Traveling light makes it much easier to explore the city, and left luggage lockers can help you do just that.

Luggage storage in Algeciras

Bounce makes luggage storage easy by partnering with local businesses in Algeciras and in cities around the world. You'll never have to look far for a left luggage facility thanks to our network of partners. And instead of leaving bags at left luggage facilities in train stations or the nearest long-distance bus station, Bounce allows you to take advantage of luggage storage at local businesses like restaurants, hotels, and convenience stores. There's no battling with small lockers in a dodgy locker area with Bounce. There's no maximum storage (within reason), and even items that wouldn't fit in a large locker can be stored with use. Algeciras city guide

Top things to do in Algeciras

With beaches, historical monuments, lively markets, and entertaining public squares in the city center, Algeciras offers a little bit of everything to holidaymakers. Once you've left your bags behind in convenient luggage lockers, you'll be able to explore everything the city has to offer.

Museums in Algeciras

Algeciras has a long history, with the oldest evidence of settlement here going back to the age of the Neanderthals. This was a major port for Phoenician traders before being settled by the Romans, and it then became part of the Muslim Caliphate of Córdoba, which gave the city its Arabic name. One of the last strongholds of Moorish Spain, it eventually felt the Spanish forces in the Middle Ages.

This long history has given the city some fantastic stories to tell, and you can learn more about them in these Algeciras museums.

Municipal Museum of Algeciras: Founded in 1995, this is the best place to come to get an overview of the complex history of the city. The archaeological and historical exhibits here will teach you about the many different periods of the city's growth. Leave your bags behind at left luggage lockers before you visit, though, because the small museum doesn't have luggage lockers of its own.

Merinid Walls of Algeciras: This archaeological park was uncovered during building work back in 1997. This is all that remains of the former fortifications of Algeciras that were destroyed in 1379 after the city was captured by Spanish forces. An atmospheric place to visit, it's important to note that there is no luggage storage on site, so make sure to leave your bags behind in left luggage lockers before you go.

Algeciras Municipal Library: One of the cultural treasures of the city, this library is located in the historic former hospital of Algeciras. The library often hosts exhibits on the town's history as well as art exhibitions by local artists, so it's worth leaving your bags behind at a convenient luggage storage and seeing what's going on at the library while you're in town.

Mercado Ingeniero Torroja: This historic market in Algeciras' old town is a great place to come not only for fresh produce but also pottery, leather goods, and other items. This is one of the places where locals do their shopping, so you'll get to experience the lively street life and sample delicious food from local restaurants and food trucks.

Mercado de abastos: Housed in Algeciras' iconic market hall, this is another great place to soak up the local atmosphere and try new things. You'll find a great range of food on offer here, along with items that make great souvenirs, like olive oil and wine.

Restaurants in Algeciras

Due to its popularity with tourists, Algeciras has a good selection of restaurants available in the city center. Traditional Spanish cuisine combines influences from European and Islamic culture, and you'll be able to sample the freshest produce of the region at the restaurants here.

Andaluz Restaurante: Serving traditional Andalusian dishes, including a great selection of seafood, this is one of the most popular restaurants in town. Drop off your bags in a convenient luggage storage and tuck into the excellent food on offer here, and you'll be eating your way through Spanish history.

Restaurante Lo De Ani: This casual Spanish restaurant is another great place to try local cuisine. The menu varies according to what's in season, but you can always find something fresh and delicious on the menu here.

The Beast Burger: This tasty hamburger restaurant is a great choice if you're looking for a fast food fix. Serving freshly-made burgers made with 100% steak, they also provide hotdogs, piping hot fries, and all your other junk food favorites.

Conclusion

Algeciras is a place many people simply pass through on their way to somewhere else, but that doesn't do justice to this charming town.
