About Birmingham Airport

The city of Birmingham owes its success to the Industrial Revolution. Its location at the center of England and its extensive canal network made Birmingham one of the workshops of the British Empire. These expansions, plus others planned for the future, have made the airport able to serve more than 12 million passengers per year and connect the center of England with the rest of the world.

Transit options at Birmingham Airport

• Birmingham airport has its own train station. The Air Rail link takes passengers from the airport to the train station in around two minutes and is free to use.
• A short train ride from Birmingham International station will bring you to Birmingham New Street. This is one of the UK's busiest and biggest train stations, and offers connections to every town in the UK via rail.
• Buses X1 and X12 connect Birmingham airport with Birmingham city center.
