Frequently
asked questions

  • How much does luggage storage cost in Cascais?

We charge from €4.30 per day (24 hours) for luggage storage in Cascais.

  • Does Cascais have luggage lockers?

Yes, but they're not always the best option. Luggage lockers can fill up quickly and may be unavailable when you need them. Some luggage lockers may be too small to fit large or bulky items. Unlike luggage lockers, we don't charge per hour and instead charge a flat rate for 24 hours of storage. We also have partners who watch over your stuff to make sure it's safe, and can answer any questions you may have or give you advice on what to do in Cascais.

  • How does Bounce luggage storage work?

We partner with local businesses around the world who have secure spaces to store luggage for travelers. Just tell us how many bags you have and when you need storage, and we'll show you convenient places you can keep your stuff safe while you explore.

Booking online is super easy and only takes a couple of minutes. To keep our partners and your stuff safe, we'll show you the address of the store once you book online. When you're ready, head to the store and show the Bounce Partner your booking confirmation so they can take your bags and securely store them right away. Then you can enjoy your day without having to worry about your bags!

To pick up your bags, show the Bounce Partner your booking confirmation and they'll hand over your stuff. That's it!
  • Where is my luggage stored?

We only partner with trusted businesses who have a dedicated, secure place to keep your luggage safe. Some businesses may store luggage behind a counter that's off-limits to customers, while others may have storage rooms or closets for your luggage. But no matter where you choose to leave your luggage, our partners will keep it safe.

  • What can I store with Bounce?

Luggage, backpacks, gym bags, and more! Bounce is like having a personal storage facility for your stuff anywhere you go, so you can leave much more than just luggage with us. Whether you want to store your luggage after checking out of your Airbnb or want to drop off your work bag before hitting happy hour, we've got you covered.

We don't charge extra for oversized items, but some special items might need to be approved before you can store them. For example, surfboards, guitars, car seats, bicycles, or skis take up a lot of space, so let us know if you have them. We can check with the Bounce Partner for you to make sure they have room for your stuff.
  • Is there hourly luggage storage in Cascais?

Yes, but many companies charge per hour and costs can add up fast. We charge one price for 24 hours of storage, so storing your stuff is more affordable in Cascais.

  • How long can I leave my luggage with Bounce?

Whether you need storage for a couple of hours or a couple of days, we've got you covered! Just put in the dates and times you need luggage storage and we'll show you all of the available locations on our map. For long-term storage lasting more than a week, reach out to us and we'll help you find a convenient location.

If you're already storing your stuff but you need more time, you can add more time from your booking details page. Just make sure the store will be open and you can get your bags before your new pickup time.
  • How do I change or cancel my booking?

Plans change, we get it! If you need to change or cancel your booking for any reason, the best way to do it is from your booking details page in the Bounce app. You can edit the dates, drop-off and pick-up times, and number of bags. You can also cancel your booking or rebook at a nearby store. If you can't find your booking details, check the email address you used to make your booking. You can change your booking by following the link there, or reach out to us if you need support.

About Cascais

Cascais is one of Portugal's wealthiest municipalities. Thanks to its magnificent beaches and its proximity to Lisbon, the town has become one of the country's premier tourist destinations. This is where Portugal's wealthy buy second homes to get away from the capital and enjoy the country scenery. It has the most expensive real estate and the highest quality of living in the whole country, and to this day, the president of Portugal traditionally summers here.

Cascais was first inhabited during the Stone Age. The Romans established a settlement here, and the town passed into Muslim hands during the Moorish occupation of Iberia. For much of its history, Cascais was a fishing village and depended on the sea for its economy. But the trade in fish made the town wealthy, and throughout the medieval period, Cascais continued to grow.

The strategic location of the town close to Lisbon saw a castle built in 1488. It was enlarged and improved in the 16th century. However, the fortifications proved inadequate to keep out Napoleon’s troops, who occupied Portugal in the early 19th century. After Napoleon's defeat, Cascais began to go into decline, but its fortunes were reversed in the late 19th century when the Portuguese royal family made it their summer home. This attracted other wealthy residents, and soon, Cascais was one of the places to be seen on the Portuguese Riviera. In the past, it has been home to the British King Edward VIII, Juan Carlos I of Spain, and exiled president of Cuba Fulgencio Batista. The casino in Cascais was the inspiration for the James Bond novel Casino Royale.

Things to do in Cascais

Cascais is best known for its beaches, and many visitors never stray far from the golden sand and roaring Atlantic waves. There's nothing wrong with that, but Cascais has more to offer than just sun and sand. Historic attractions make a nice change from the beach, but there's always somewhere new to explore in a city with scenery like this.

  • Learn more about the history of the region at the Museu Condes de Castro Guimarães. Located in a striking building dating back to 1900, the eclectic collection here once belonged to a wealthy individual. Don’t miss the stunning library with 25,000 books, some of which date back centuries.
  • Get your beach fix at Rainha beach. Cascais has no shortage of beaches to choose from, but this sandy cove with its astonishingly clear waters is conveniently close to the city. The beach faces east, so if you're looking for a place to watch the sunrise, Rainha can't be beaten.
  • Lose yourself in the charming streets of the Old Town. This upscale district is full of glitzy boutiques and luxurious restaurants. It’s also a great place to people watch and do some window shopping.
  • See a wilder side of Cascais at Boca do Inferno, or the Mouth of Hell. This stunning rock formation in the rugged cliffs just outside town is a great place to get some photos of the scenery that makes the region so special. When the sea is rough, waves surge through this cave and make for dramatic viewing.
  • Mix it up with the global elite at Cascais Marina. Home to hundreds of stunning yachts, the recently redeveloped Marina is a great place for a stroll along the waterfront. You’ll also find plenty of bars and restaurants here if you’re in need of refreshment.
