At the mouth of the Han River and the coast of the East Sea, Da Nang is one of the most important port cities in Vietnam. It is located right in the middle of Vietnam, making it the perfect central point for anyone visiting or doing business in the country. Although the city was known as Tourane from 1883 until 1947 during the French colonial rule, it went back to being Da Nang after the Vietnamese forces were able to regain control of the city.
The origin of the city actually goes back to 192 AD when it was the Ancient Kingdom of Champa. Many temple ruins are still found in the villages of My Son and Tra Kieu, where you can still see towers and temples. The history is upheld and preserved at many memorials and museums around the city.
With an average high temperature of 86 degrees and an average low temperature of 73 degrees, Da Nang is also a popular tourist spot for water fun. The city has quite a few beaches with direct access to the water where you can swim, go boating, or do some fishing. Or just have a seat on one of the beaches and enjoy the scenery.
