The Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport, also known simply as DFW Airport, is a major international airport located in the U.S. state of Texas. DFW is the main airport that serves the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, a conurbation of 11 counties located within Texas. With a land area of 27 square miles, the DFW Airport ranks second-largest airport in the country, just after the Denver International Airport. In fact, the airport is bigger than the island of Manhattan in New York and is situated approximately halfway between the cities of Dallas and Fort Worth, including portions of the Texas cities of Coppell, Euless, Grapevine, and Irving.
