About Union Station Dallas

In 1916, the Union Terminal Company needed to streamline Dallas’ then-burgeoning railroad industry. They built a terminal in the northern part of the city that would get five different train stations on the same track (pardon the pun!). With that, the Dallas Union Terminal was born. For years, commuters would disembark from their trains here. Architect Jarvis Hunt designed the Dallas Union Terminal with a Beaux-Arts aesthetic in mind. Because of this unconventional approach, the space was able to act as a provisional library in 1954. Over the years, the Dallas Union Terminal was expanded and upgraded until it became Union Station Dallas that many Texans already know and love.

Union Station Dallas has served many railroads and iconic trains over the years; the Inter-American, Lone Star, and Texas Eagle trains, just to name a few. Union Station Dallas also doubles as an art gallery thanks to the numerous murals in the building. But, that’s only the tip of the iceberg. There’s so much more to Union Station than meets the eye. That’s why you’ll need to visit this venue and see how amazing it is for yourself.

They say that “everything’s bigger in Texas.” Apparently, this old adage applies to Texas’ population; as of 2019, the entire state of Texas has a population of 29 million residents. Dallas alone has a population of 1.345 million citizens, making it one of the largest cities in the Southern United States. About 27 million people purportedly visit Dallas each year. Many of these folks hail from other parts of America. Others come from overseas countries. Either way, Dallas tends to get pretty packed during tourist season. Places like Dallas Union Station have luggage storage options, but those spaces can run out rather quickly. Visitors should use Bounce as a reliable luggage storage solution.

Luggage Storage Near Old Red Museum

Dubbed the “Old Red Museum” by citizens, this venue actually used to be the Dallas County Courthouse. It was built all the way back in 1892 by some of Dallas’ first citizens. In 2007, the courthouse was converted into a museum and opened to the public. One of the museum’s most striking features is its red sandstone bricks. Architect Max A. Orlopp Jr. designed this building with a deliberate Richardsonian Romanesque aesthetic in mind. Guests are encouraged to visit the Old Red Museum as soon as they get the chance.

Luggage Storage Near Reunion Tower

If you search for pictures of Dallas online, you’ll find plenty of pictures of the city’s skyline. You’ll see tons of skyscrapers and the like, but you’ll also find a large tower with a large sphere at the top. That building is Dallas’ legendary Reunion Tower. This 561-foot marvel of architecture and engineering was built in 1978 by the Welton Becket and Associates firm. Since then, the Reunion Tower has become a staple of Dallas’ culture. “The Ball,” as many Dallas natives call it, is located in the heart of the city’s West End Historic District. Guests are encouraged to visit the Tower and check out all of its attractions in person - including its Geo Deck observation room. Bounce away your baggage, then check out this iconic landmark.

Luggage Storage Near Sixth Floor Museum

When we mentioned this museum earlier, we referenced “one of the most shocking moments in Dallas’ history.” Sadly, we were referring to the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. The Sixth Floor Museum is a tribute to the life, death, and legacy of America’s 35th President. This museum is located on the sixth floor of the Dallas County Administration Building, in the very same building where Lee Harvey Oswald assassinated JFK. The Sixth Floor Museum houses many artifacts from JFK’s life and the November 22, 1963 motorcade. The Sixth Floor Museum also has a webcam that lets viewers see through Oswald’s sniper scope. Please use Bounce to store your things before visiting this venue.
