About Komtar 

Located in George Town, Komtar is the tallest building within the Malaysian state of Penang. This 68-story building opened in 1986 and stands 249 meters high. The tower was designed with the intention of providing a world-class shopping and entertainment destination that would revitalize George Town.

Due to a variety of different obstacles, including the Asian financial crisis in the 1990s, this did not happen right away. As a result, Komtar Tower has undergone its own series of revitalization efforts. The most recent of these occurred in 2015 and included the addition of a banquet hall and a rope course, among other features.

These days, Komtar Tower holds shopping areas, eateries, fine dining restaurants, a collection of theme parks and museums, and more. There are also countless opportunities to take in incredible panoramic views of George Town, the most notable of which is the 16-meter glass, Rainbow Skywalk, which is located on the 68th floor, suspending visitors 250 meters off the ground!
