About Manila Airport

Also known as Manila Airport, the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) is the main transportation hub of Manila. It’s located on the border of the small cities of Parañaque and Pasay in Manila, the capital of the Philippines. Named after Senator Ninoy Aquino Junior, this busy travel hub handles more than 45 million visitors per year.

Manila International Airport has five lounges—two at Terminal 1 and three at Terminal 3— where you can enjoy comfortable seating, food, drinks, and other amenities. If you get hungry, there are 11 eateries and a Food Hall. While there, try the signature Jolly Spaghetti and fried chicken at Jollibee, the Philippines' largest fast-food restaurant chain.

All Terminals have retail shops, such as the Duty-Free Philippines retailers at Terminals 1, 2, and 3. You can also find handcrafted items and unique souvenirs at Preclaro’s at Terminal 1 and Tesoro’s Philippine Handicrafts at Terminals 1 and 3.

Once you’re out of the airport, exciting sightseeing opportunities await you, with attractions like the Resorts World Manila, historic Intramuros, and the Bonifacio Global City, or what locals call BGC, just a short commute away.

Book luggage storage in Manila with Bounce to travel light as you navigate the bustling streets and unfamiliar transport modes in the Philippines, such as jeepneys and tricycles. This ensures your items are secure until you’re ready to collect them.

How to get to Manila from Manila Airport

The Philippines has multiple modes of transportation from tricycles, a three-wheeled vehicle, and jeepneys to buses and trains. But if you want to get to the heart of the capital city from Manila Airport, taxis or buses are your best bet. An airport taxi costs around $5.50 (PHP300), and the trip takes about half an hour, depending on the traffic. A city bus takes longer at about an hour but is about 50 cents (PHP25) one-way.

Things to do near Manila Airport

Whether you just have a few hours or an entire day to explore beyond NAIA, you’ll be surprised by the thrilling activities and attractions waiting for you. You don’t have to go far, with the Philippine Air Force Aerospace Museum just a short walk from Terminal 3 arrivals hall. But if you want to see more and experience the warmth of Filipino hospitality, read on to discover several points of interest near Manila Airport.

The Mind Museum

Spark your imagination and learn more about science at the Mind Museum on 3rd Avenue, about 20 minutes from the airport. The museum boasts over 53,000 square feet of cool science exhibits on two floors with more than 250 interactive displays.

The five galleries take you on a journey through atoms, life, earth, the universe, and technology. Atom Gallery looks at the smallest elements, like electromagnetism and gravity. The Life Gallery describes habitats and organisms on the planet, while visitors can expand their knowledge about dinosaurs at the Earth Gallery. Don’t miss the largest Technology Gallery, which provides examples of how we live, who we are, how we know, how things work, and more, and the Universe Gallery, which focuses on outer space.

The Mind Museum bag policy

The museum doesn’t have a space to store luggage or bags. Leave your belongings in a secure luggage storage facility at one of our multiple locations near the museum or the airport.

The National Museum of Natural History

A 25-minute drive from the airport on Teodoro F. Valencia Circle will lead you to the National Museum of Natural History. It’s the place to be to discover the country’s rich geological and biological diversity. With six floors of exhibits, you may need more than one visit to appreciate it all.

The first floor is the Tree of Life and has access to the lower courtyard and visitor services. The second floor is the most popular, with the largest crocodile skeleton in the Philippines. Several permanent and rotating galleries, such as the rainforest, mangroves, and marine realm, make up the third and fourth floors. The fifth floor has exhibits about the Philippine biodiversity, geology of the Philippines, minerals and energy resources, and the life and time of the Philippines.

The National Museum of Natural History bag policy

There are baggage counters at the entrance for big bags, tumblers, and umbrellas. However, the museum doesn't allow luggage and bags larger than 33cm by 43cm, wrapped packages, backpacks, baby carriers, and other bulky items. Check for alternative luggage storage options before heading off to see the exhibits.

Rizal Park

To the west of the National Museum of Natural History on Roxas Boulevard, you’ll find Rizal Park, also known as Luneta Park. This historical urban park boasts 140 acres of green space and symbolic monuments, such as the Martyrdom of Rizal Diorama, Dr. Jose Rizal National Monument, and Rizal’s Execution Site Historical Marker.

Take a walk along the path in the Chinese and Japanese Gardens, where you’ll see hundreds of native flowers and plants. The National Planetarium, next door to the garden, is a fascinating place to learn about the stars. Be sure to stop by the visitors’ center before leaving, where you can learn more about the park and the area around it.
