When you talk about Namba, one of the first spots here that comes to mind is Dotonbori. Situated just a few minutes away from the Nankai Namba Station, the shrine is easily recognizable because of its distinct giant lion head, which has eyes that light up and a snout that has speakers. According to local folklore, the mouth of the lion is said to bring fortune to those who visit. There is also an annual event held in January at the shrine, where a tug-of-war style competition occurs.
