Frequently
asked questions

  • How much does luggage storage cost in Piraeus?

We charge from €4.30 per day (24 hours) for luggage storage in Piraeus.

  • Does Piraeus have luggage lockers?

Yes, but they're not always the best option. Luggage lockers can fill up quickly and may be unavailable when you need them. Some luggage lockers may be too small to fit large or bulky items. Unlike luggage lockers, we don't charge per hour and instead charge a flat rate for 24 hours of storage. We also have partners who watch over your stuff to make sure it's safe, and can answer any questions you may have or give you advice on what to do in Piraeus.

  • How does Bounce luggage storage work?

We partner with local businesses around the world who have secure spaces to store luggage for travelers. Just tell us how many bags you have and when you need storage, and we'll show you convenient places you can keep your stuff safe while you explore.

Booking online is super easy and only takes a couple of minutes. To keep our partners and your stuff safe, we'll show you the address of the store once you book online. When you're ready, head to the store and show the Bounce Partner your booking confirmation so they can take your bags and securely store them right away. Then you can enjoy your day without having to worry about your bags!

To pick up your bags, show the Bounce Partner your booking confirmation and they'll hand over your stuff. That's it!
  • Where is my luggage stored?

We only partner with trusted businesses who have a dedicated, secure place to keep your luggage safe. Some businesses may store luggage behind a counter that's off-limits to customers, while others may have storage rooms or closets for your luggage. But no matter where you choose to leave your luggage, our partners will keep it safe.

  • What can I store with Bounce?

Luggage, backpacks, gym bags, and more! Bounce is like having a personal storage facility for your stuff anywhere you go, so you can leave much more than just luggage with us. Whether you want to store your luggage after checking out of your Airbnb or want to drop off your work bag before hitting happy hour, we've got you covered.

We don't charge extra for oversized items, but some special items might need to be approved before you can store them. For example, surfboards, guitars, car seats, bicycles, or skis take up a lot of space, so let us know if you have them. We can check with the Bounce Partner for you to make sure they have room for your stuff.
  • Is there hourly luggage storage in Piraeus?

Yes, but many companies charge per hour and costs can add up fast. We charge one price for 24 hours of storage, so storing your stuff is more affordable in Piraeus.

  • How long can I leave my luggage with Bounce?

Whether you need storage for a couple of hours or a couple of days, we've got you covered! Just put in the dates and times you need luggage storage and we'll show you all of the available locations on our map. For long-term storage lasting more than a week, reach out to us and we'll help you find a convenient location.

If you're already storing your stuff but you need more time, you can add more time from your booking details page. Just make sure the store will be open and you can get your bags before your new pickup time.
  • How do I change or cancel my booking?

Plans change, we get it! If you need to change or cancel your booking for any reason, the best way to do it is from your booking details page in the Bounce app. You can edit the dates, drop-off and pick-up times, and number of bags. You can also cancel your booking or rebook at a nearby store. If you can't find your booking details, check the email address you used to make your booking. You can change your booking by following the link there, or reach out to us if you need support.

About Piraeus

Piraeus is a port city located a short trip out of Athens, making it a popular launchpad for the coveted Greek Islands. Many tourists pass through the city every year as they board a ferry to the island of their choosing. While many travelers might only transit through the destination on the way to more luxurious adventures, Piraeus is extremely popular among the locals who flock to the city to enjoy the sun and sea. It’s known for its buzzing waterfront which boasts a whole range of hip restaurants, as well as some quieter neighborhoods that make the perfect spot for late-night catch-ups and dancing into the night.

Piraeus may be defined by its harbor but the city is so much more than that. It’s home to boutique stores and trendy cafes, stunning scenery and colorful houses, and a rich history that is evident in the various museums located around town. Travelers who choose to explore the city rather than simply pass through will not be disappointed by the rich culture, interesting architecture and exceptional food.

With so much to do, you’ll have a full itinerary. Booking on our online platform gives you more time to sightsee. Top things to do in Piraeus

As a popular port city, most travelers are only familiar with the harbor. Tourists tend to know the name ‘Piraeus’ simply because of the ferries that transport hordes of people to the Greek Islands every day, not because of the city itself or anything it has to offer. If you have space in your itinerary, we strongly recommend you do some exploring in Piraeus. Even a few hours will give you a fulfilling introduction to this charming Greek city. Consider adding some of these things to your Piraeus bucket list.

Attractions and activities near Piraeus

While the city of Piraeus shouldn’t be underestimated, we know that most people only head out this way as a part of a greater exploration of the area. If you’re building an epic itinerary to explore this part of Greece, we recommend the following attractions and activities.

Greek Islands

If you’re spending some time in Piraeus, reserve some time to explore the nearby islands. After all, this is the reason most people come to Piraeus at all! Whether you’re looking to party on Mykonos, soak up the luxury in Santorini, or get off the beaten track on Milos or Kythira, there truly is something special about the Greek Islands.

Votsalakia Beach

A little farther out from the main hub of Piraeus lies a stunning city beach with all of the facilities you need for an afternoon in the sun. It’s got a beach bar, various cafes and restaurants, and a whole selection of sun loungers to choose from.

Zea Marina

While most people hang out at the waterfront at Piraeus Port or Mikrolimano, Zea Marina is a picturesque spot that doesn’t quite get the same attention. That’s not a bad thing though, since it means there’ll be fewer crowds and a nice relaxing atmosphere. Head here for gelato, a meal at a modern restaurant, or to have a casual beer with area residents.

Piraeus Harbor

Wander the Piraeus Harbor to enjoy the boats and scenery. As the chief seaport for Athens, Port Piraeus is one of the city’s best-known locations. It’s also the biggest port in all of Greece, and one of Europe’s biggest harbors as well.

Archaeological Museum of Piraeus

Learn about Piraeus’ history at the Archaeological Museum of Piraeus. While here you’ll learn that Piraeus was an important commercial center of the Eastern Mediterranean during antiquity, and how during the times of Ancient Athens it was used as a naval dockyard. Most of the museum’s exhibits are filled with artifacts found during excavations, many of which date between the Mycenaean and Roman time periods.

Archaeological Museum of Piraeus bag policy

This museum doesn’t have a clear bag policy for its customers, but why drag your suitcase around for the entire day when you can easily store luggage at a Piraeus luggage storage facility? Unlike storage lockers, we let you book luggage storage with us in advance, keeping you from having to wait in long lines to drop off your things.

Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center

Immerse yourself in Greek culture at Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center. This complex is located in the bay of Faliro and is a free-access public space where locals can go to gather as a community and learn something new. It’s a venue for all kinds of recreational, athletic, educational, environmental and cultural events.

Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center bag policy

There are no rules against bringing bags into the cultural center, but you might not have your hands free while you’re participating in the fun activities. We have luggage storage locations all over the city to use whenever you need somewhere to store your luggage, backpacks and heavy bags.

Allou! Fun Park

Release your inner child at Allou! Fun Park. This amusement park is filled with exciting rides, from roller coasters and Ferris wheels to thrill rides and go-karts. There are also tame options for younger guests or those who would simply rather ride on the merry-go-round or musical tea cups. The park also has water splash rides, a toy train ride, and realistic dinosaur statues which, as you can imagine, are quite popular among kids.

Allou! Fun Park bag policy

Although we’re not sure about the size of bags allowed inside the park, you can’t bring large bags onto the rides with you. Don’t carry your things around or worry about where to leave them while you enjoy the park. Keep them safe at a secure left luggage service in Piraeus.

Hellenic Maritime Museum

Be transported to a different time at the Hellenic Maritime Museum. If you’re already planning to visit the Zea Marina, reserve a few hours to check out this museum as well. It was first founded back in 1949 and is the biggest museum of its kind in all of Greece. Get informed about the interesting history and development of the Hellenic Navy. You’ll learn about facts from way back in prehistoric times all the way to today.

Hellenic Maritime Museum bag policy

The bag policy is unclear for the Hellenic Maritime Museum. Play it safe and store your luggage with us before your visit. We offer the best value for luggage storage. Unlike luggage lockers, we don’t charge more to stow bigger bags. Take your time enjoying the museum without your suitcases and come back for pick up once you’re done.

Shopping in Piraeus

Piraeus Central Market

Come explore the Piraeus Central Market which isn’t only a good place to shop, but also to immerse yourself in the city’s exciting local culture. Most of the stalls here offer fresh produce, meats and seafood, with everything from fruits and fish to fresh spice and herbs. Some items, like cheese, honey and olive oil, are great as gifts for loved ones, or to bring back home to incorporate into your own meals. Everything is produced locally.

Kastella neighborhood

Make your way to the neighborhood of Kastella for a fun day of retail therapy. This area is dotted with boutique shops where you can find fashionable and unique items to spice up your wardrobe. The shops here sell everything from clothing and accessories to artwork and home decor. While you explore the area pay attention to the beautiful neoclassical and art deco architecture of the buildings.

Mikrolimano district

Mikrolimano is a small port area close to the harbor and also happens to be a fantastic place to go shopping. Unlike the Kastella neighborhood, which is known for its specialty shops and boutiques, this part of the city attracts shoppers looking to dine in upscale restaurants and shop for luxury brands. Depending on your budget and how much money you want to spend, you can find just what you need here.

Top restaurants in Piraeus

Belle Amie

This Mediterranean restaurant is located in a lovely neoclassical building with a charming atmosphere that combines both history and modernity. Start with the beetroot salad and the grilled tuna dish as the main course. They have yummy desserts, like brownies, and a whole menu of cocktails.

Margaro

Although it’s described as a simple fish restaurant, not many places do seafood better than Margaro. It first opened its doors to hungry locals in 1944 and has been thriving since. Just like the restaurant, the menu is limited in options but what they do have is always fantastic. Take your pick from meals like fried red mullet, salad, fried shrimp, and similar dishes.

Gajah
