Frequently
asked questions

  • How much does luggage storage cost in Aberdeen?

We charge from £5.10 per day (24 hours) for luggage storage in Aberdeen.

  • Does Aberdeen have luggage lockers?

Yes, but they're not always the best option. Luggage lockers can fill up quickly and may be unavailable when you need them. Some luggage lockers may be too small to fit large or bulky items. Unlike luggage lockers, we don't charge per hour and instead charge a flat rate for 24 hours of storage. We also have partners who watch over your stuff to make sure it's safe, and can answer any questions you may have or give you advice on what to do in Aberdeen.

  • How does Bounce luggage storage work?

We partner with local businesses around the world who have secure spaces to store luggage for travelers. Just tell us how many bags you have and when you need storage, and we'll show you convenient places you can keep your stuff safe while you explore.

Booking online is super easy and only takes a couple of minutes. To keep our partners and your stuff safe, we'll show you the address of the store once you book online. When you're ready, head to the store and show the Bounce Partner your booking confirmation so they can take your bags and securely store them right away. Then you can enjoy your day without having to worry about your bags!

To pick up your bags, show the Bounce Partner your booking confirmation and they'll hand over your stuff. That's it!
  • Where is my luggage stored?

We only partner with trusted businesses who have a dedicated, secure place to keep your luggage safe. Some businesses may store luggage behind a counter that's off-limits to customers, while others may have storage rooms or closets for your luggage. But no matter where you choose to leave your luggage, our partners will keep it safe.

  • What can I store with Bounce?

Luggage, backpacks, gym bags, and more! Bounce is like having a personal storage facility for your stuff anywhere you go, so you can leave much more than just luggage with us. Whether you want to store your luggage after checking out of your Airbnb or want to drop off your work bag before hitting happy hour, we've got you covered.

We don't charge extra for oversized items, but some special items might need to be approved before you can store them. For example, surfboards, guitars, car seats, bicycles, or skis take up a lot of space, so let us know if you have them. We can check with the Bounce Partner for you to make sure they have room for your stuff.
  • Is there hourly luggage storage in Aberdeen?

Yes, but many companies charge per hour and costs can add up fast. We charge one price for 24 hours of storage, so storing your stuff is more affordable in Aberdeen.

  • How long can I leave my luggage with Bounce?

Whether you need storage for a couple of hours or a couple of days, we've got you covered! Just put in the dates and times you need luggage storage and we'll show you all of the available locations on our map. For long-term storage lasting more than a week, reach out to us and we'll help you find a convenient location.

If you're already storing your stuff but you need more time, you can add more time from your booking details page. Just make sure the store will be open and you can get your bags before your new pickup time.
  • How do I change or cancel my booking?

Plans change, we get it! If you need to change or cancel your booking for any reason, the best way to do it is from your booking details page in the Bounce app. You can edit the dates, drop-off and pick-up times, and number of bags. You can also cancel your booking or rebook at a nearby store. If you can't find your booking details, check the email address you used to make your booking. You can change your booking by following the link there, or reach out to us if you need support.

About Aberdeen

Aberdeen is Scotland's third-biggest city, after Edinburgh and Glasgow. This coastal city has ancient roots, with the earliest settlement known in the area dating back 8000 years. However, Aberdeen is very much a city of the future. Since the discovery of oil in the North Sea in the 1970s, Aberdeen has become the capital of offshore oil drilling, not just for the UK but for the whole of Europe. Routinely praised as one of the best places in Britain to start a new business, Aberdeen is very much a city on the rise.

Aberdeen's northern latitude presents varying weather patterns year-round. Summers here are on the cooler side, and the winters can be wet and cold. But visiting here means a wonderful time no matter the season, and you’ll enjoy everything this ancient yet modern metropolis offers. Whether you're looking for forbidding castles, atmospheric scenery, or modern culture, you'll find what you're after here.

With some of Scotland’s best restaurants, uncrowded attractions, and sprawling beaches, Aberdeen is a town unlike any other. No matter what brings you to Aberdeen, you’ll likely fall in love with this hidden gem.  While touring a bustling city like this or rushing from one work meeting to another, it’s important to consider where you’ll leave your bags. Although it’s worth noting that there are bus and train station lockers, there are more options for baggage storage around the city.

Luggage storage in Aberdeen

There's no better way to explore Aberdeen than on foot. Much of the charm of this city comes from its unique architecture, which is best experienced on a walk around the city. And because Aberdeen is a relatively small city, you can see plenty of it as a pedestrian.

However, nothing ruins a nice walk quicker than carrying too much baggage. That's why we offer luggage storage in Aberdeen so you can drop off your bags and explore more easily. Unlike storage lockers, we can store any size of bags for as little or as much time as you’d like. With security and convenience in mind, you can feel confident leaving your belongings with us and picking them up at your convenience.

When you want to book luggage storage or find luggage storage locations near you, just check out our app. It’ll help make the whole process faster since you can complete your booking online in advance, and you can also use it to get in touch with our great customer support team.

Top things to do in Aberdeen

With a population of a little over 210,000, Aberdeen isn't a large city. But as a visitor, this can work in your favor. Most of the city's attractions are close together, meaning you won't have to travel long distances to see a good portion of what Aberdeen offers. Plus, for a city its size, Aberdeen punches well above its weight when it comes to things to do.

Activities and attractions in Aberdeen

Gordon Highlanders Museum

The Gordon Highlanders are one of the most legendary military regiments of all time. These kilted warriors marched to the music of bagpipes around the world in the heyday of the British Empire. Their story can be discovered at the Gordon Highlanders Museum on the outskirts of Aberdeen.

Gordon Highlanders Museum bag policy

The bag policy for this museum is unclear, but note that large bags often aren't permitted inside similar attractions. Make sure to drop your items off at one of our convenient locations for Aberdeen luggage storage before your visit. We’ve partnered with local hotels and store locations close to the city’s top tourist attractions and transportation hubs, so you can always find a secure location to store your luggage for a few hours.

Distillery tour

The Speyside region is home to around 50% of Scotland's whiskey distilleries. Aberdeen is the ideal base to explore Scotland's national drink and try a dram or two of some rare and unique whiskeys. You'll learn about the centuries-old craft that goes into every bottle and develop a new appreciation for this popular spirit.

Distillery tour bag policy

Depending on which tour you choose and the distillery’s rules, you may be unable to bring your belongings. Before embarking on your tour, remember to drop off your bags at a secure luggage storage near Aberdeen, so you're not carrying more than you need to. By taking advantage of our left luggage storage services, you’ll be able to focus on the whiskey without worrying about your backpacks and without them taking up space.

Duthie Park

This park on the south side of Aberdeen is the perfect place to take a break from the city and recharge your batteries. Opened in 1883, this Victorian park offers sprawling green lawns perfect for a picnic and boating ponds to relax on the water and enjoy a gentler side to this future-facing city.

Harbor cruise

Head out on a harbor cruise to see more of the Scottish coastline. Sightings of dolphins are common in the rich waters off the coast of Aberdeen, and if you're lucky, you may even see minke whales.

Footdee

Wander through the quaint fishing village of Footdee. Built in the 19th century, the stone houses and cobbled streets of this part of the city exude charm. It's also a great place to try the local seafood in any of the many restaurants you'll find here.

Aberdeen Beach

Get plenty of fresh air at Aberdeen Beach. Only the hardiest souls would consider swimming in the cold water here, but this long stretch of sand is a beautiful place for a walk. The many shops and restaurants along the Esplanade add to the vacation atmosphere. Here’s a tip: visit at sunset for the most romantic views.

Old Aberdeen

Step back in time as you wander the streets of old Aberdeen. Aberdeen is an architectural marvel, and nowhere is that more evident than in the old part of the city. Stone churches, solemn towers, and granite monuments all contribute to the unique atmosphere of this town.

Shopping in Aberdeen

Union Square Shopping Centre

Union Square is one of the largest shopping malls in the city and also one of the best known. You should reserve a decent time slot in your itinerary to explore it all since it has over 60 local shops and restaurants. There’s also a cinema inside the mall, and because it’s situated close to the Aberdeen train station, it’s easy to get to.

The Academy

Located right in the heart of the city centre, this small but well-equipped retail mall is a wonderful place for a shopping spree. It’s home to around 20 stores which offer some nice fashion and beauty products. You’ll also spot some cafes and a bakery serving tasty treats to hungry passersby.

Trinity Centre

Although it’s not quite as big as Union Square, the Trinity Centre has lots for customers to explore. Inside, you’ll find jewelers, clothing retailers, toy stores, and much more. Don’t worry about finding somewhere to eat when you get peckish, there are plenty of options inside the mall.

Top restaurants in Aberdeen

Slain’s Castle

Get a drink at Slain's Castle during your trip. Don't let the name fool you; this castle is actually a bar. It's in an old Gothic church and still features the original carved wooden paneling, lending it a uniquely eerie atmosphere.

The Silver Darling

The Silver Darling is a restaurant set up in what used to be a Customs House. It’s a beautiful building with large windows so you can overlook the North Sea while you eat, and maybe even spot dolphins and seals past the harbor. On the menu, you’ll find all of your favorite Scottish dishes.

Almondine

Welcome to one of the most luxurious bakeries in all of Aberdeen. At Almondine you’ll snack on macarons, which are all made using the bakery’s very own recipe, as well as delicious cakes and other treats. Take a break from sightseeing for some afternoon tea with a side of scones or finger sandwiches.
