asked questions

  • How much does luggage storage cost in Bournemouth?

We charge from £5.00 per day (24 hours) for luggage storage in Bournemouth.

  • Does Bournemouth have luggage lockers?

Yes, but they're not always the best option. Luggage lockers can fill up quickly and may be unavailable when you need them. Some luggage lockers may be too small to fit large or bulky items. Unlike luggage lockers, we don't charge per hour and instead charge a flat rate for 24 hours of storage. We also have partners who watch over your stuff to make sure it's safe, and can answer any questions you may have or give you advice on what to do in Bournemouth.

  • How does Bounce luggage storage work?

We partner with local businesses around the world who have secure spaces to store luggage for travelers. Just tell us how many bags you have and when you need storage, and we'll show you convenient places you can keep your stuff safe while you explore.

Booking online is super easy and only takes a couple of minutes. To keep our partners and your stuff safe, we'll show you the address of the store once you book online. When you're ready, head to the store and show the Bounce Partner your booking confirmation so they can take your bags and securely store them right away. Then you can enjoy your day without having to worry about your bags!

To pick up your bags, show the Bounce Partner your booking confirmation and they'll hand over your stuff. That's it!
  • Where is my luggage stored?

We only partner with trusted businesses who have a dedicated, secure place to keep your luggage safe. Some businesses may store luggage behind a counter that's off-limits to customers, while others may have storage rooms or closets for your luggage. But no matter where you choose to leave your luggage, our partners will keep it safe.

  • What can I store with Bounce?

Luggage, backpacks, gym bags, and more! Bounce is like having a personal storage facility for your stuff anywhere you go, so you can leave much more than just luggage with us. Whether you want to store your luggage after checking out of your Airbnb or want to drop off your work bag before hitting happy hour, we've got you covered.

We don't charge extra for oversized items, but some special items might need to be approved before you can store them. For example, surfboards, guitars, car seats, bicycles, or skis take up a lot of space, so let us know if you have them. We can check with the Bounce Partner for you to make sure they have room for your stuff.
  • Is there hourly luggage storage in Bournemouth?

Yes, but many companies charge per hour and costs can add up fast. We charge one price for 24 hours of storage, so storing your stuff is more affordable in Bournemouth.

  • How long can I leave my luggage with Bounce?

Whether you need storage for a couple of hours or a couple of days, we've got you covered! Just put in the dates and times you need luggage storage and we'll show you all of the available locations on our map. For long-term storage lasting more than a week, reach out to us and we'll help you find a convenient location.

If you're already storing your stuff but you need more time, you can add more time from your booking details page. Just make sure the store will be open and you can get your bags before your new pickup time.
  • How do I change or cancel my booking?

Plans change, we get it! If you need to change or cancel your booking for any reason, the best way to do it is from your booking details page in the Bounce app. You can edit the dates, drop-off and pick-up times, and number of bags. You can also cancel your booking or rebook at a nearby store. If you can't find your booking details, check the email address you used to make your booking. You can change your booking by following the link there, or reach out to us if you need support.

About Bournemouth

Bournemouth is a large coastal town in Dorset, England. The lively city has become a popular vacation destination over the years due to its seven miles of golden beaches, vibrant nightlife, and attractions for all ages. The seaside town is well connected nationally and internationally, thanks to Bournemouth Railway Station and Hurn Airport, which offers flights to dozens of European destinations.

Bournemouth is a relatively new town, having been established in the early 19th century. The first inhabitant of Bournemouth was thought to be Lewis Tregonwell, who bought over eight acres of land near the seaside in 1836. By the mid-1800s, Sir George Tapps-Gervis had begun to build a resort town in the region, which became a popular getaway destination for the upper classes. Bournemouth's population grew quickly and was nearly 60,000 by the end of the 19th century.

Currently, Bournemouth is one of the biggest seaside resorts in the south of England. Thousands of sunbathers and holidaymakers flock to the area yearly to take advantage of Bournemouth's warm weather and pristine beaches. Planning to visit Bournemouth soon? Whether you're in town for the day or planning a week-long getaway by the seaside, you’ll be amazed by the variety of excursions Bournemouth offers. From its stunning sandy beaches to its chic restaurants and shops, here are some of the best things to do in Bournemouth:

Attractions and activities in Bournemouth

Bournemouth Pier

Bournemouth Pier is one of the town's biggest landmarks and attractions. Bournemouth Pier started as a small wooden jetty in the mid-19th century before expanding into the 1,000-foot-long pier that today dominates the oceanfront. You'll find plenty to do on Bournemouth Pier, from the crazy golf course to the waterfront modern amusement arcade.

There's also Rock Reef, an indoor adventure attraction with rock climbing, highlines, and more. One notable recent addition to the pier is the PierZip, a 250-foot-long zip wire that runs from the end of the pier to the beach. To appreciate Bournemouth Pier's thrilling activities, leave your non-essentials behind. We offer baggage storage not far from the bustling Pier, so you can begin your adventures right away.

Bournemouth Gardens

When the weather is nice, stroll through the gardens. Located just a short walk from the pier and the beach, touring Bournemouth Gardens is a great way to spend the day with family and friends. Besides the beautiful floral displays, the gardens feature a mini golf course, an art exhibition during the summer, concerts at the Pine Walk bandstand, and an aviary. Picnic on the park's lawn or stroll with a loved one along the tranquil River Bourne.

Bournemouth Gardens bag policy

When you decide to explore the gardens, do it without the burden of baggage; it’ll only slow you down anyway. Instead, find our luggage storage service nearby and store your bags with us. Book online and take advantage of our flexible opening hours to plan your day.

Russell Cotes Museum & Art Gallery

Set in a Grade II Listed Victorian house, this stunning early 20th-century manor house contains artifacts and artwork from across the globe. Make sure you check out the gorgeous Mikado's Room and Moorish Alcove. When you’re done, find yourself a spot on the outdoor terrace cafe and enjoy the panoramic views of the sea.

Russell Cotes Museum & Art Galley bag policy

You’re not allowed to bring large bags (over 45cm) or backpacks when visiting the museum, as the venue only has luggage lockers for small items like umbrellas, coats and handbags.  Use our app to find the nearest left luggage facilities and take advantage of our affordable prices and great service.

Bournemouth Oceanarium

The Oceanarium is an excellent excursion for all ages. During your visit to the Oceanarium, you'll see over 150 different fish species from around the world, as well as reptiles, marine mammals, invertebrates, and more. Watch adorable oriental small-clawed otters play at Otter Oasis, or head to the open-top roof for the Penguin Beach Encounter and come face-to-face with quirky Humboldt penguins.

One of the Oceanarium highlights is Shark Wreck Reef, where you can watch an array of sharks swim around overhead as you stroll through an underwater tunnel. The Oceanarium also offers animal interactions, where you can feed sharks, stingrays, and otters.

Bournemouth Oceanarium bag policy

There are no storage lockers or any baggage storage in the venue. Lighten your load by booking online with one of Bounce’s luggage storage locations. For a flat rate per bag, store luggage of any size for a few hours or the entire day.

Brownsea Island

Brownsea Island is ideal for holidaymakers looking to escape Bournemouth's busy streets for the day. A large island in Poole Harbour, Brownsea Island consists mainly of peaceful meadows and woodlands. One of the biggest reasons people visit Brownsea Island is its varied wildlife.

The island is one of the few places in southern England where red squirrels still thrive. It's also a superb location for avid birdwatchers, with many species inhabiting the island, including peacocks and sandwich terns. After exploring Brownsea Island, rest at the Villano Cafe and enjoy a cup of tea and a snack. You can’t take large bags on the ferry to the island, so swing by any of our luggage storage locations in Bournemouth beforehand.
