About Playa Blanca
Playa Blanca means white beach in Spanish, which makes sense since the sand is a sparkling white color and makes a stunning contrast to the turquoise blue waters. The community of Playa Blanca is a small five-block town between San Jose and San Miguel Streets. You’ll find over a dozen restaurants and eateries along the beach with more tucked into the city across Lopez Portillo Street. Being such a little-known spot in Cancun, you will have this beach mostly to yourself. The rest of the tourists typically head for the big busy beaches like Caracol, Chac Mool, Delfines, and Coco’s Beach Club.
Within a mile of Playa Blanca, you will find over two dozen eateries such as Bajo del Mar seafood, The Four Dish Joint, Grill 733, and Dolce mente Express Italian Café. More than half of the restaurants are seafood places featuring freshly caught fish right from the ocean. If you are looking for a good place to get some souvenirs or anything else you need, there are several malls here. Browse Plaza Las Americas on Tulum Sur Avenue, the Plaza Galerias, and Shops Cancun on Tulum Mza Avenue, as well as many small shops, huts, and markets along the way.
Fun Fact: The white sands of Playa Blanca’s beaches will not burn your feet because it is made from ground coral, which feels cool no matter how hot the weather gets.

Or get four traditional dishes on the streets of Cancun where you get to go to the front of the line during the Street Food Tour. The Flavors of Mexico Tour lets you try seven Mexican dishes at four different restaurants. You can even take a short cooking class and make your own tortillas, sopes, and guacamole. Have fun learning more about Mexican cultures and cuisine. Be sure to leave your bags with a Bounce affiliate on your way.

Only 10 minutes from Playa Blanca, you can find this fascinating park on de Septiembre. The Main Plaza has music, handcrafted items for sale, eateries, shops, and more. Swim in the Riviera Maya, which is the underground river, to see the underground caves. If you don’t want to swim, take the Paradise River tour and see the caves on a flat boat. Don’t miss the Mayan Village where you journey through the past, learning how Mayans lived. There are also several archaeological sites, a wine cellar, the House of Whispers, and the Bridge to Paradise Mexican Cemetery. Visit the Mexican Folk Art Museum, see thousands of butterflies on the world’s largest butterfly pavilion, and get friendly with over 1,500 birds in the aviary.
