Store Your Luggage Around Pattaya With Bounce
Located on the east coast of the Gulf of Thailand, about an hour from Bangkok, Pattaya has a population of approximately one million people. Dating back to 1767 with the march of King Taskin, known as Phraya Tak at the time, it was named Thap Phraya, which was later changed to Pattaya. Although it was mainly a fishing village until the 1960s, tourism became prominent during the Vietnam War when the US soldiers started visiting during their days off.
With a tropical climate, the city of Pattaya enjoys warm weather year-round with an average high temperature of 88 degrees and an average low temperature of 77 degrees. Rain is frequent from May through October, with an average of 5.6 inches of rainfall per month. Pattaya Bay is one of the largest beach resorts in Asia, and water sports are typically enjoyed all year long. In fact, there are six water parks in the area from the fun Cartoon Network Amazone Waterpark to the fantastic Underwater World.
There are plenty of other things to keep you busy in Pattaya. The Tiffany Cabaret Show at the grand theatre will leave you breathless, and the Nong Nooch Tropical Garden will refresh you with all the vibrant colors. Visit the Big Buddha, which is almost 60 feet tall or see the most significant engraving of Buddha in the world at 426 feet in height. Enjoy the many parks that Pattaya has to offer with miles of hiking and biking trails to explore.

Top Things to Do
From beaches with turquoise waters to waterparks with huge slides, you can find some amazing aquatic fun in Pattaya. Even if you are only there for the day, there are so many things for you to see and do, you won’t have to worry about being bored. Take in some culture, too. Some of our favorite museums, shopping, and eateries are listed below for you to check out .
Museums
From museums featuring teddy bears to those with nothing but Buddhas, you can learn more about everything in Pattaya. They even have a wax museum, and Ripley’s Believe it or Not. Check out some of these exciting and unique museums while you are in town.
- Art in Paradise: Located in North Pattaya, this 3-D art museum will knock your socks off. There are 10 different themes here, including the Dinosaur Room, Wildlife Room, and the Camouflage Room, to name a few. Put yourself in the middle of the art for some awesome pics to frame or share on your favorite social media sites.
- Teddy Bear Museum: Another fun museum to explore is the Teddy Bear Museum on Beach Road, across from the Bay of Thailand. See over 2,000 teddy bears in 12 different zones. Some of these include the Fairy Tale Zone, Under the Sea, and Fossil Zone. They also have a huge gift shop where you can buy your own special teddy.
- Asian Spice Museum: If you love Asian food and are interested in spices, the Asian Spice Museum is a great place to learn them. From spicy peppers to citrusy teas, you can even sample a taste. See a collection of serpents and other exotic animals in their mini-zoo, take cooking classes and wander through a botanical garden.
Shopping
Pattaya takes shopping to a new level with a floating mall, beach market, and a garden plaza. There is a shopping mall just for kids they call Kidzoona Central Festival Pattaya right across the street from the beach.
- Central Festival Pattaya Beach: Across from the Bay of Thailand on Moo 9, you will find more than just a store. This giant indoor shopping center has everything from gifts to high-tech items, clothing, and toys. Right next door is Kidzoona.
- Four Regions Floating Market: Have you ever shopped on a boat? The Four Regions Floating Market is one of the most unique shopping malls you will ever see. While some of their shops are along the banks of the river, many are actually on the river. In boats. Until the 1900s, the only way merchandise could be sold was by boat, and this Pattaya market has kept history alive for tourists as well as the locals who sell their wares. Go for a boat ride, zipline across the river, see a live music show, or watch Thai boxers fight on a log in the water.
- OK 20 Baht Shop: This is the Dollar Store in Pattaya. In fact, it is less than a dollar because a baht is only 62 cents in US dollars. This colorful and fun store has all kinds of things for under a buck from batteries to scissors and birthday decorations to socks.
Dining
When you get hungry, head to the beach for some delicious Thai food or sushi. Or hit the local diner for a burger and fries. You can even find some pizza or tacos if you look hard enough. But don’t leave town without trying the local fave, the Doner Kebab, seasoned meat on a stick cooked on a rotisserie.
- Meridian Revolving Restaurant: Want to eat on the roof? Dine when the sun is setting for a beautiful dinner view. The highest restaurant in Pattaya, 54 floors up, this revolving eatery is pretty fancy with excellent food. The best thing? You can take a cable car or zipline down after dinner. Sample excellent buffet food or Thai dishes and sushi.
- BRONX Pizza: It may not be in New York, but the BRONX Pizza café has perfect pies by the slice or as a whole. Thin crust with handmade dough and sauce made with fresh local ingredients, this pizza may have you missing home. Located on Soi Lengkee, the casual and friendly atmosphere will make you want to hang out for a while.
- La Baguette: French food in Thailand? Sure, why not? Just a short way from the Dolphin Roundabout on Naklua Road or by Phratumnak Hill on Thappraya Road, there are two locations to choose from. They have all kinds of food from croissant sandwiches to delicious desserts. Savor drinks in a comfortable setting with both indoor and outdoor seating.
