Luggage Storage Near Gyeongbokgung Palace
If you have ever wanted to live in a palace, go see Gyeongbokgung Palace on Sajik-ro, just four miles from Hongdae. The palace was first built in 1395, just a few years after the Joseon Dynasty founded by King Taejo. The name means “Palace Greatly Blessed by Heaven.” At one time, the palace had 330 buildings with 3,000 staff members to serve the royal family. However, the palace and buildings around it were destroyed by fire twice afterward and had to be rebuilt. Today, you can take a tour of the remaining 12 buildings and grounds, see the changing of the guards, and explore the gardens. You can even visit the National Folk Museum and National Palace Museum right on the grounds. Do not bring along your luggage, though, or you will be turned away. One of our local Bounce partners will be happy to keep it for you while you visit.
