About Odaiba

While in Tokyo, don't leave without heading over to the man-made islands of Tokyo Bay. Explore Odaiba, a very popular entertainment and shopping district that is a big tourist draw. Cross the iconic Rainbow Bridge from Tokyo to Odaiba and get lost in the crowds and the revelry that is Odaiba. The district saw a boom in business and tourism in the 1980s but soon ebbed until the late 1990s when several hotels and shopping centers moved in and set up shop. Tourism quickly grew exponentially, creating the need for more and more developments and entertainment venues.

Today, Odaiba has become a high-tech entertainment district that leaves people imagining a world where computers, robots, and androids take the place of mundane tasks and even help make the earth a better place. Futuristic museums give you a glimpse into the world of robotics and offer interactive exhibits that will blow your mind. Aside from all the high-tech gadgets found inside Odaiba, there is still plenty of green space where you can stretch out on the grass and breathe in the fresh air. Grab some take out or pack a picnic and head over to Seaside Park. Get fantastic views of Mount Fuji from the Daikanransha Ferris Wheel in Seaside Park.

Fun Fact: Odaiba has a network of elevated walkways to keep pedestrians safe from the vehicle traffic, making it easier to move from place to place without crossing traffic.
