After you’ve explored everything inside and bought yourself some cool new clothes, you can make your way to Mosaic Street. Here, you’ll find high-end boutiques and souvenir shops.

Sekaido

If you’re crafty or interested in art, Sekaido will be like paradise to you. This art supply and stationery store has several floors filled with art tools, supplies, and resources to help you with all of your future artistic endeavors. With five floors filled with every paintbrush, marker, paper, and canvas you can think of, you’ll definitely be able to find what you need here.

Tsukemen Gonokami Seisakusho

Tsukeme, also known as dipping ramen, is a common treat in Japan, and this restaurant is one of the best places to get it. You can take your pick from different flavors and varieties, like shrimp tsukemen, ebi miso tsukemen, or ebi tomato tsukemen, to name a few. You can also take your pick of toppings with choices like chashu pork, mozzarella cheese, basil sauce, and ramen egg. The restaurant is small, with a limited number of seats. There’s usually a line out the door to order, so come in advance.

Shinjuku Kappo NAKAJIMA

With the full meals served at Shinjuku Kappo NAKAJIMA, you’ll never leave this restaurant hungry. They serve both dinner and lunch courses with fantastic options for both, and inside the restaurant is warm, clean, and welcoming. The lunch meals come with servings of rice, pickles, miso soup and tea, as well as your pick of sardine dish. You can have them simmered in shoyu stock, deep fried and crispy, served as sashimi with ginger and sesame, or in a casserole-type dish topped with onions and egg.

Shin

Shin is a small restaurant with very few seats. You won’t get a full sit down meal with service here, but what you will get is delicious food that’s cooked to perfection. There’s sometimes a long wait to get your food but it’s more than worth it, as the care and expertise that goes into their freshly made noodles is what makes them so good. You’ll have several options but we recommend the carbonara udon which includes noodles topped with grated cheese, bacon tempura, and a soft-boiled egg. If you have room, order a serving of deep-fried tofu to go with it.
