About Glasgow Central Station

Being the largest and busiest station in the city, Glasgow Central Station off Hope Street and Gordon Street is one of the most important transit hubs in Glasgow. It’s also one of the busiest train stations in Scotland, partly thanks to Glasgow’s status as a well known tourist spot, and is a gateway to major destinations all across the UK. Some of its most popular train lines will bring you to places like Bristol, Liverpool, and London.

The impressive train station you see today wasn’t always quite so grand. Most of the original station’s construction was finished before it opened to the public in 1879, but it has undergone several expansions and extensions since then. Today, the newly refurbished station offers modern amenities, a range of facilities, on-time train services, and a convenient location, making it a useful hub for tourists and locals alike.

The area around this much-used station is bustling with activity. Don’t wheel your large suitcase through the crowds because traveling with heavy luggage can make it difficult to handle the escalators and stairs at the train station. That’s where our luggage storage service comes in. With your belongings securely stowed, you can navigate crowded streets and discover the sights in Glasgow at your leisure.
