Airport travel from Glasgow Central Station

Glasgow Airport to Glasgow Central Station

This is the closest and also the main airport in Glasgow, most likely where you’ve arrived. There aren’t any trains that travel from the airport, but a quick and convenient express bus service arrives just outside the station. From the airport, hop on the 500 Airport Express bus and ride for about 15 minutes. You can get off at St Vincent Street, just a 5-minute walk from the train station. Tickets cost about £10.00 for a single adult pass.

Glasgow Prestwick Airport to Glasgow Central Station

Glasgow Prestwick Airport is a bit further away than the one mentioned above and often services cheaper flights. However, it’s super easy to get to since it has its very own train station. Trains travel between Prestwick Airport and Central Station regularly, and the whole journey only takes about 45 minutes. It’s also very affordable, with tickets costing £5.70.

Getting around London from Glasgow Central Station

Pollok Country Park

Escape from the busyness of city life and take a walk through Pollok Country Park. This lush public park is home to walking paths and highland cows, and in the heart of the grounds is the grand Pollok House, which features antique furniture, ceramics, and fine art. Getting to Pollok Country Park is easy; just grab a seat on the next train, and you’ll reach the Shawlands station in about 10 minutes. From here, it’s a short and pleasant walk to the park. Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum

This museum and art gallery in the lush Kelvingrove Park is a nice spot to spend a few hours in Glasgow. The museum has been around since 1901 and is one of the most popular attractions in the city. The exhibits inside the gallery and museum cover everything from civic art to natural history, catering to art and history enthusiasts alike.

To get to Kelvingrove Park from the train platform, just take a short 4-minute ride to Cumbernauld. Take in the beauty of the city on a short 15-minute walk, and you’ll find yourself right outside the museum and gallery. Tickets for the train will only cost about £1.90.

The Hidden Lane

To find unique souvenirs and gifts or browse, make your way to The Hidden Lane. Despite its name, this place is hard to miss if you know where to look since it’s made up of a collection of colorful houses and buildings where you’ll find a range of designers, artists, jewelers, and workshops. 

There are about 100 studios, shops and businesses in the area, and reaching it only requires a short 4-minute train ride. Pay £1.90 for a ticket to the Exhibition Centre, and from there you’ll have to walk for about 8 minutes to reach The Hidden Lane.
