AT&T Stadium visitor guide

Located in Arlington, which is conveniently sandwiched between Dallas and Fort Worth, AT&T Stadium is a colossal sports and entertainment venue that primarily functions as the home stadium of the Dallas Cowboys. With a seating capacity of over 100,000, it’s one of the largest domed stadiums in the world. AT&T Stadium opened in 2009 after a massive reconstruction project that saw the stadium adopt state-of-the-art design and amenities.

Its distinctive retractable roof allows for “rain-or-shine” gamedays and versatile event hosting throughout the year. The sheer spectacle of the stadium's futuristic design and modern architecture has earned it the nickname "Jerry World," after Cowboys' owner Jerry Jones. While the Dallas Cowboys are the main attraction, AT&T Stadium has become a premier destination for major events like concerts, college football games, and large-scale entertainment productions like Wrestlemania.

If you’re in Dallas or Fort Worth for a game or event at AT&T Stadium, you’ll want to familiarize yourself with the bag policy, which is strict for safety issues. You won’t want to get caught with your luggage in a tight spot, so looking into an AT&T Stadium luggage storage for a few hours is a great choice. Bounce is the most reliable service in the area, with locations throughout Dallas and Fort Worth.

AT&T Stadium food policy

AT&T Stadium bag policy

All backpacks, luggage, briefcases, binocular cases, laptop bags, and large purses are strictly prohibited. A small clutch (smaller than 4.5” x 6.5”) is allowed. The AT&T Stadium clear bag policy allows single-compartment bags made of clear plastic that do not exceed 12″ x 6″ x 12″.

Bounce’s Arlington Luggage Storage Spot is near the stadium in case you have some large items that don’t comply with the AT&T Stadium bag policy.

AT&T Stadium food policy

The AT&T Stadium food policy strictly prohibits all outside food and beverage. All containers, including water bottles, are not allowed inside. There are medical exemptions that can be handled at guest services.

Jerry World offers a wide variety of Texas favorites, including barbecue, wings, classic stadium food, and exceptional Tex-Mex. For vegetarians and guests with dietary restrictions, the options are somewhat limited (this is Texas, after all). The best option is Grain Bowl, with stands in sections 450 and 420.

How to get to AT&T Stadium

AT&T Stadium transportation

To the relief of both Dallas and Fort Worth residents, AT&T Stadium is centrally located in Arlington, so the question of how to get to AT&T Stadium is easy to answer. Here are your options:

Driving

The vast majority of fans get to AT&T Stadium by car. The stadium has acres of lots available for parking. The stadium is located near Highway 360 and I-30, so it’s very easy to get to from both Fort Worth and Dallas.

Tailgating is a vital part of the Dallas Cowboys experience. And while this is by no means specific to this fanbase, it’s one of the most fun experiences you have when catching a game at AT&T Stadium.

Public transportation

Arlington's public transportation system includes limited bus service, so if you’re staying in Arlington, this might be an option. The Arlington Entertainment District Trolley is a free service that connects popular destinations like AT&T Stadium and Globe Life Field to hotels and Arlington’s downtown area.

Taxi and rideshare

Uber and Lyft are common ways to get to the game, but a ride from downtown Dallas can be very expensive. The rideshare drop-off and pickup area is in Lot 15. Taxis are much less common these days, but there will be a line of them outside AT&T Stadium after every event.

Trinity Railway Express (TRE)

If you are coming from Dallas or Fort Worth, you can take the TRE commuter train that connects both cities to Arlington. This method requires a transfer from the TRE CentrePort/DFW Airport Station to the Metro Arlington Xpress (MAX) bus route 1, but it stops right outside AT&T Stadium. Extra service is scheduled to accommodate the larger crowds on game day.

Walking

If you are staying at one of the hotels clustered around AT&T Stadium, the venue is easy to get to on foot. However, most fans arriving from Dallas, Fort Worth, and beyond don’t have that option. If you are walking, AT&T Stadium is surrounded by beautiful plazas and expansive lawns that are worth exploring before the game.

AT&T Stadium camera policy

The AT&T Stadium camera policy is pretty strict, limiting guests to compact cameras with a lens shorter than 3” that cannot be detached. Monopods, tripods, GoPros, selfie sticks, and any video recording equipment are prohibited unless you have a media credential.
