Coney Island bag policy

Currently, Coney Island is home to two different amusement parks, Luna Park and Deno’s Wonder Wheel. Bags are allowed inside the parks, but loose items and bags are not allowed on any of the rides, so unless you are content to watch other people have fun, it’s better to drop them off at a luggage locker in Coney Island. Both parks offer storage for small bags, but for larger items of luggage, you’ll need to find another solution. Besides, you won’t have as much fun if you’re weighed down with heavy bags, so it’s better to leave them behind where possible.

Coney Island food policy

Unlike some other amusement parks you could probably name, you are allowed to bring outside food with you to both Luna and Deno’s. The only restriction is that you’re not allowed to bring alcohol with you. If you want to drink at the park, you need to purchase alcohol there and consume it before leaving the premises due to New York licensing laws.

Of course, just because you can bring food with you, doesn’t mean you have to. After all, part of the fun at an amusement park is trying all the unusual food items they have to offer. Nathan’s Famous Hot Dogs are a classic Coney Island treat, and Luna Park also offers a food court where you can feast on wings, cheese fries, popcorn, and all kinds of other amusement park treats.

Coney Island camera policy

Both parks allow you to bring cameras with you. However, commercial photography is strictly forbidden except by prior arrangement with Park management. For that reason, it’s not a good idea to bring tripods, lights, or anything else that may make you look like a professional. If you have a lot of bulky camera equipment, the best strategy is to leave it behind at a luggage storage locker in Coney Island. That way, you won’t have to worry about breaking any of the rules or carrying more than you need to.

Coney Island rules

  • Guests in the amusement park are reminded that this is a family-friendly environment. Disruptive behavior will not be tolerated, and nor will clothing with offensive slogans. Even using offensive language inside the park can be grounds for ejection.
  • Pets are not allowed inside the park, with the exception of registered service animals.
  • Smoking is not allowed anywhere inside either park.
  • Many of the rides have height and weight restrictions, and staff have the right to refuse service to anyone who does not meet the requirements for a specific ride.
  • The parks are connected to the New York subway system, with lines D, F, N and Q serving Coney Island – Stillwell Avenue station.

Coney Island lockers

With excellent transit connections to the Big Apple, it’s no wonder that Coney Island is such a popular place to hang out, especially during the summer. Its multiple amusement parks, beaches, restaurants, and other attractions make Coney Island New York’s most popular summer playground.

If you’re a fan of amusement parks, you won’t want to miss out on the opportunity to enjoy this side of New York. Even if the parks aren’t your thing, Coney Island is still worth visiting for its beaches and fun holiday atmosphere. You can make your trip easier on yourself by dropping off any unneeded bags at a luggage locker in Coney Island. The lighter you travel, the easier it will be to have fun.
