It started with the Allobrogians until the Romans came in 121 BC. Known as the Humanitarian Adventure, the exhibition includes items from the 1864 Geneva Convention, the Children of Rwanda, and the Red Cross of the Congo.

Favarger: For authentic Swiss chocolate at its finest, Favarger has been making sweet treats since 1826, so they know what they are doing. You can find it on Quai des Bergues. Or just follow your nose to the middle of town. Their specialty is Avelines, which are milk chocolate bites blended with hazelnuts and almonds. They also have chocolate bars, drinks, and fondue.
Plainpalais Flea Market: For those who want a more casual atmosphere with second-hand, vintage, and handmade items, the Geneva Flea Market has all that and much more. Found on Plaine de Plainpalais, this large bazaar has over 839,000 square feet of retail therapy with a little of everything. In fact, it is one of the largest flea markets in Switzerland. If you can’t find it here, you won’t find it anywhere.
