Old San Juan is a historic district found on the island of San Juan in Puerto Rico. Located at the “northwest triangle,” it is the oldest settlement in the country and is the historic center of the city. The site was once a vital Spanish port and outpost until 1898 when the Spanish-American War ended, and the United States seized Puerto Rico.
