Everything you need to know about shopping in Las Vegas

Nevada's most populous city, Las Vegas, is an internationally renowned major resort city for gambling, shopping, and fine dining. The city also has a reputation for being a major party destination, with a wide variety of nightlife options to suit any taste. In addition to its many casinos, Las Vegas is home to many other attractions that make it a popular tourist destination. These include the world-famous Las Vegas Strip, home to some of the most famous casinos and hotels in the world. Las Vegas is also an excellent jumping-off point to explore iconic attractions like the Hoover Dam, Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area, and the Grand Canyon. With so much to see and do, it's no wonder that Las Vegas is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world. Whether you're looking for a place to gamble, shop, or party, you're sure to find what you're looking for here.

Las Vegas is the place to be for anyone who loves to shop. Even if you're not into gambling or partying all night, it's a worthy destination for some retail therapy. Shopping in Las Vegas can involve anything from kitschy souvenirs on the low end to very high-end brands and everything in between. Many of the great shopping destinations in Vegas are at the major hotels, so you can often combine your shopping with a meal, a quick spin of the roulette wheel, or a tour of the hotel's attractions.

Before you head out to give your credit card a workout, drop your luggage off at a Bounce storage locker. You'll need both hands available to carry all your new purchases, anyway. And remember, no one else needs to see your dreaded credit card bill because what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas. Here is our list of all the best shopping experiences in town:

Shopping at Caesars Palace Las Vegas

The Forum Shops at Caesars Palace

Shopping at the Forum Shops at Caesars involves a thrilling spin through couture and boutique shops that only the few can afford. Upscale brands are on display in the lavishly decorated space and beckon tourists from around the world to spend their casino wins on something extravagant. The Forum Shops have a whopping 160 restaurants and retail spaces in all, so it's easy to squeeze in some fine dining options while you're here.

Some of the standout shops at The Forum include the ones on Appian Way. You can pick up some fine art at the Galerie Michelangelo, select a stunning watch at Cartier, find the perfect purse at Louis Vuitton, or your next party outfit at Gucci.

If you don't have the cash necessary to pull the trigger at the designer shops, there are still options for you at The Forum. Check out Hot House Market for intriguing vintage finds or Forum Gifts & Sundries to pick up souvenirs and snacks for your hotel room.

Designer boutique shops at the Bellagio

The Bellagio Las Vegas Strip is home to all the high-end designer stores you could possibly want. From Louis Vuitton to Chanel and Bottega Veneta, you better have a hefty bank account to shop here. You'll also find Valentino, Hermes, and Prada have boutiques here. Even if you don't have the cash, a little window shopping never hurt anyone! And, if you find something you like, you'll know exactly what to spend your casino windfall on.

Make a day of your trip to the Bellagio (if you're not already staying here) and plan to have a meal. Le Cirque offers a decadent dining experience that will cost you. The Bellagio Buffet also has tons of choices, or for something quick and affordable, head to Snacks for some tasty fast food.

Grand Canal Shoppes at the Venetian Las Vegas

Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood Resort

Just down the strip from Caesars Palace and the Flamingo, you'll find the Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood Resort. This shopping arcade is open from 10 am to 9 pm every day. This is the perfect spot to find the mid-range brands you're familiar with that are similar to your mall at home. From H&M to Lululemon to Urban Outfitters, the Miracle Mile Shops are affordable for most tourists.

In between bouts of shopping, head to Fat Tuesday for one of their famous daiquiris or Blue Moon Bar for some amazing craft beer. If food is what you need to keep you going, the Miracle Mile Shops have that too. For fast food options, head to Chipotle or Panda Express, and to sit down to rest your feet, La Salsa Cantina or Pampas Las Vegas might suit you better.

Grand Canal Shoppes at the Venetian Resort

Another fabulous Las Vegas Strip shopping option is the Grand Canal Shoppes at the Venetian. Unlike Caesars and the Bellagio, the shops here are more of a combination between high-end and affordable. You'll see both new brands and old favorites here. Highlights of the stores at the Grand Canal Shoppes include Coach, Banana Republic, Burberry, Harley Davidson, Sephora, Louis Vuitton, and Skechers. There's something in every price point here. All these shops are open from 10 am to 9 pm daily.

While you're at the Venetian, make sure you tour the hotel a little bit. Decorated as if on a Venice canal, it's truly a unique sight. Why not take a break from shopping and dine at one of the excellent restaurants that offer a canal view while you eat? This is certainly not something you expect when you travel to the desert!

Convenience stores in Las Vegas

Town Square Las Vegas

Town Square Las Vegas can be found easily as it's just south of the "Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas" sign that will be on most tourists' itineraries. This open-air shopping venue has all the classic American brands you might want. Check out Abercrombie & Fitch, Old Navy, M.A.C. Cosmetics, Lids, Tommy Bahama, and so much more. There is even a Whole Foods Market for some natural and organic groceries. For a bargain, head to Saks OFF Fifth, and you won't pay nearly as much as you would at Saks Fifth Avenue.

Aside from shopping, Town Square has an 18-screen movie theater, Escapology Escape Game, and Stoney's Rockin' Country Bar for great entertainment options. For lunch or dinner, you can eat at a number of different restaurants. Check out Fleming's for a perfect steak, Pho Kim Long for Vietnamese food, or Kabuki for some tasty sushi. It's safe to say that once you get here, you can definitely stay all day.

Fashion Show Mall

Also located on the famous Las Vegas Strip, Fashion Shop Mall caters to shoppers with varying budgets. Affordable stores like Anthropologie, Forever 21, Ann Taylor, and Guess won't break the bank. If you have a nice bathtub in your room, stop by The Body Shop or Bath & Body Works for some treats. This indoor mall is what you think of when you picture a typical shopping mall. It has two floors, and the shops line the walkways. During the week, you can head here from 11 am to 8 pm, and the mall stays open until 9 pm on Fridays and Saturdays.

Fashion Show Mall is the place to go if you enjoy browsing through large department stores as well. The mall is anchored by several of them, including Saks Fifth Avenue, Macy's, Neiman Marcus, and Dillard's. You can also grab a meal or snack during your visit here without going far at all. Chipotle, Auntie Annie's Pretzels, Jamba Juice, and Panda Express all await you here at the Fashion Show Mall.

Street vendors in Las Vegas

Grand Bazaar Shops

For anyone who doesn't want to miss one of the 310 sunny days Las Vegas gets every year, head to the open-air Grand Bazaar at Bally's on the strip. Aside from some of the best shopping in Las Vegas, Grand Bazaar offers the chance to dine at Wahlburgers, from the reality tv show, and take in one of the nightly music and light shows. There is also plenty of tasty Las Vegas street food to keep you browsing while you dine. You can easily grab a late dinner since this spot is open until at least 10 pm every day of the week.

As for what you can expect to buy here, everything from pearls and diamonds to Harley Davidson gear is available. If you've been up for too long or hit the drinks too hard, head to O2 Oxygen Bar for a pick-me-up. Las Vegas Experiences is also a great shop to pick up quirky souvenirs for your friends back home.

Swap Meets

If you're the kind of shopper who prefers to scour through racks and shelves to find something unique, Las Vegas has tons of different swap meets for you. The Fantastic Indoor Swap Meet is about ten minutes by car from the strip, and the Charleston Antique Mall is a similar distance. If you need help navigating the city, check out our guide on how to get around Las Vegas.

Aside from these two places, there are at least five other swap meet/flea market locations to entice you, but the rest are a little further from the heart of the action on Las Vegas Blvd.

Best shopping malls in Las Vegas

Las Vegas South Premium Outlets

Outlet malls in the states are common, and no guide to Las Vegas shopping would be complete without including one. The Las Vegas Premium Outlets have all your favorite brands, including Michael Kors, Cole Haan, Kate Spade, Columbia, and Levi's. And luckily, you can get items at a significant discount from what you would normally pay in the standard locations on the strip. This is another open-air destination, and you should plan to spend at least a few hours here during your stay.

Enjoy the Las Vegas South Outlets from 10 am to 8 pm during the week and shortened hours on Sunday.

Meadows Mall

Another of the typical US shopping malls, Meadows Mall is a low-key spot away from the action of the tourist district and a good place to escape the heat of the day. This air-conditioned mall has over 100 stores and five anchor department stores. To get here, head about ten minutes north of the strip by car and enjoy the ample parking and fewer crowds.

Meadows Mall offers you department stores like Macy's Backstage for deep discounts and JC Penney, along with clothing options like Aeropostale, Express, Hot Topic, and Torrid. You can also grab a bite to eat at the food court to rest before you take on more stores. The mall is open from 11 am to 7 pm, extending to 8 pm on Fridays and Saturdays.

Shopping in Las Vegas

Conclusion

Shopping in Las Vegas doesn't have to cost a fortune, but it can if you want it to. The Miracle Mile, Town Square Mall, and Fashion Show Mall shopping centers are all great mid-range destinations. Swap meets, flea markets, and other discount options like the Premium Outlets are ideal for those on a strict budget.

Las Vegas offers you shopping in elaborately decorated arcades, open-air malls, conventional malls, and department stores. You can find just about anything in this famous city, and while you may not want to spend all your time shopping here, you should definitely make some time for it. You'll be glad you did when you're back home wearing that new bracelet, pair of shoes, or perfect dress.
