The Congee House Cafe

In South Perth, the Congee House Cafe is an Asian restaurant serving all sorts of cuisines from Chinese to Vietnamese. Its most popular dish is the congee, which is where the name came from. Congee is a rice porridge with meats, veggies, and an egg.

The chicken congee is the best according to locals and it is one of the most inexpensive eateries in Perth. If you are craving some carbs, get one of their three pasta dishes. The all-day breakfast menu at this cafe is not pricey at all so you can get a brekky bruschetta, coffee, and dessert for less than 15 dollars. It is one of the best breakfast spots in Perth with the finest smashed avo toast, breakfast burritos, and homemade bircher muesli.

Good Things Cafe

In Mosman Park on Wellington, Good Things are in store for you at Good Things Cafe. According to the locals, they have the most friendly staff, the best food, and a long menu to choose from. In fact, they have eggs served 11 different ways including several vegan options.

Open until 2:30 PM, weekdays and 4 PM on weekends, you will be happy to find such an imaginative menu. There are the chili eggs with salsa verde, delicious polenta soldiers poached eggs with hollandaise, and The Hulk breakfast for the really hungry visitor.


Located on St. Georges Terrace and Mill Street in South Perth, Panache has a peaceful and friendly atmosphere and good service serving breakfast and lunch all day. Located on Barrack Street and St. Georges Terrace in the State Building, Petition is one of those brunch spots that seem fancy but are very friendly and casual. It also serves breakfast and lunch foods all day long. It's a cozy and iconic place with plenty of sunlight and open air space so you don't feel crowded, even if there is a crowd.

Since they use seasonal produce and local ingredients, the menu changes a few times a year but you can always get a stack of buttermilk pancakes, huevos rancheros, or even a Rueben sandwich. The food is great and the people are friendly.

Chinta Cafe

The unique setting is worth the visit even if you only have coffee at Chinta Cafe. It is fondly nicknamed the Tropical Garage because it used to be a garage and it is full of tropical plants. Whether you want to come for High Tea or would like a big menu to choose from, visit Chinta.

At the crossroads of two suburban streets, this quirky eatery serves Southeast Asian breakfast, lunch, and high tea with some of the most unique food in town. The fried chicken & waffle dish is delicious and the Nasi Goreng Indonesian rice with Asian veggies is Perth's best.


If you love fried chicken and waffles, you have to go to this Perth Cafe because they have the best. Located right on Cottlestone Beach, you will be impressed before you even take a bite. The great coffee is another plus to warm you up after taking a morning swim.

You will love their wonderful service and the big breakfast that comes with eggs your way, sourdough bread, bacon, hash browns, spinach, mushrooms, and roasted Roma tomatoes. The prices are a bit higher here but it is well worth it when you have such a stunning view.

Finlay & Sons Coffee No. 917

Located on Beaufort Street in Inglewood, this is one of the local favorites, which means it has to be outstanding. The menu is fresh and imaginative with dishes like French toast with lemon curd and mango, bibimbap with steak and veggies, a variety of egg dishes, and sweet potato corn fritters. But the coffee is the star.

Finlay & Sons get their coffee from Twin Peaks Coffee Roasters who roast their beans in a cast-iron roaster with high-quality beans. Whether you want pour-over, French Press, or Aeropress, you won't be disappointed. You can go ahead and sleep in and enjoy a late breakfast too since they are open until 2:30 PM.

Little Bay Restaurant

At Watermans Bay Beach, there is a cute little restaurant called Little Bay where you can get the Bayside Brunch. It is a bit fancier than most of the others and they only have brunch on weekends but that is no reason not to visit. The view alone is a good reason to eat there.

The menu is different than others since they have a buffet as well as menu items to choose from. It is one of the most popular places in Perth to get a plate of crispy gnocchi and chorizo and the pulled pork tostada.
