T-Mobile Park visitor guide

Famous as the home of the Seattle Mariners, T-Mobile Park in Seattle’s SoDo neighborhood has the capacity to welcome nearly 48,000 baseball fans to a home game. The stadium’s retractable roof lets the sun in and also protects spectators (and players) when the notoriously rainy Seattle weather happens.

If you’re lucky enough to be attending a Mariners game or one of the events in the stadium’s concert series, make sure you have a plan for T-Mobile Park luggage storage. There are tons of Bounce bag storage locations in Seattle, so you can conveniently and affordably store anything you’re not bringing with you to the game.

T-Mobile Park does not have luggage storage itself, so it’s a good idea to familiarize yourself with the various policies and rules enforced at the stadiums. Here’s everything you need to know:

T-Mobile Park bag policy

The T-Mobile Park bag policy is very specific. Large backpacks, duffle bags, and purses, as well as any bag that obscures its contents, are not allowed at all in the stadium. The exception is small clutch purses or bags that are no bigger than 4.5 inches x 6.5 inches.

Your safest bet is to put everything you need to bring into the stadium into a clear vinyl or plastic bag. Then, the contents are entirely visible to security staff, but even the T-Mobile Park clear bag policy has its limitations - these bags can’t be larger than 12 inches by 6 inches by 12 inches. Spectators are also permitted to bring in one-gallon clear plastic bags that zip closed.

Since there is no official luggage storage inside T-Mobile Park or lockers of any kind, visiting a Bounce location in advance is the best course of action. Bounce can store any size of bag for as long as you want, so you won’t need to rush to get your stuff when the game ends.

T-Mobile Park food policy

The good news is that spectators don’t have to spend their money on the park’s food and drink offerings if they don’t want to. Although a hot dog and some popcorn can enrich a baseball game experience, T-Mobile Park’s food policy allows both single-serving food items and sealed, clear water bottles no larger than 32 ounces.

Guests can also bring in medicinal beverages, baby bottles, and unopened single-serve juice boxes. Any other beverages, such as soda and coffee, are not permitted. Additionally, refillable water bottles less than 32 ounces must be made of plastic, as metal and glass bottles won’t be allowed.

The T-Mobile Park food policy prohibits you from bringing any alcoholic beverages inside the stadium, and this includes non-alcoholic beer, flasks, shooters, bottles, cans, airline-size spirits, etc.

How to get to T-Mobile Park

The stadium’s location close to I-90 means that many people choose to drive if they’re traveling from outside the city. On the other hand, it’s also easy to get to the stadium using public transportation, especially if you’re already in Seattle.

By car - Parking is readily available around the stadium and ranges in price. The Mariners Garage is the most expensive (up to $60) and can handle vehicles up to seven feet tall. The Union Station Garage only offers space for vehicles up to 6’ 6” but is one of the lower-priced options. Lastly, the Lumen Field Garage Lot is just next to T-Mobile Park and can accommodate vehicles up to 8’ 3”. It costs between $10 and $50, depending on the event. Expect to pay close to the maximum for a Mariners home game.

Public transportation - As you might expect, this central Seattle stadium is close to stops on the Link light rail, several bus routes, and ST Express buses. It’s an easy walk to T-Mobile Park from both the International District/Chinatown Station and the Link Stadium Station.

Other options - If neither of these options appeals to you, consider getting an Uber or Lyft ride. It’s more expensive than the train or bus but much cheaper than driving and paying for parking. Plus, you’ll have much less hassle during the busy pre and post-game periods on the road. Just be aware that the Uber pickup/drop-off spot is usually at the intersection of Edgar Martinez Drive and 1st Avenue South, otherwise known as the Home Plate Entrance Gate.

T-Mobile Park camera policy

Everyone wants a few pictures as mementos of their Mariners game, concert, or other event. The good news is that the T-Mobile Park camera policy is somewhat lenient as long as you're a novice. Cameras that are six inches in length or more with their lens extended, professional equipment, selfie sticks/tripods, and video cameras are not permitted. This is mostly to prevent the equipment from negatively impacting other spectators’ enjoyment of the game.

As a rule, using your phone to snap pics or take videos (as long as the video is not of game action) is allowed.

T-Mobile Park rules

Knowing any additional T-Mobile Park policies can help you have the best experience on game day. Here, T-Mobile Park covid rules are in line with the King County and Washington state guidelines, masks are not currently required.

If you’re planning to purchase food at the concession stands at T-Mobile Park, be aware that they are all cashless. Additionally, don’t get here too early - the gates to the ‘Pen open two hours before the game and 90 minutes prior to the game for all other gates.

Security at T-Mobile Park is tight. Be prepared to walk through a metal detector, and additional screening with a hand-held detector may be required. You won’t need to remove your phone, keys, belt, or coins from your pockets unless specifically asked to do so, which is nice.

Lastly, if you’re traveling as a family with a stroller or require the use of a wheelchair or other mobility aid, these items are allowed in the stadium. Special allowances are also offered for items like diaper bags as long as your child is with you.

Conclusion

Getting to experience a Mariners home game is exciting for most people. Just make sure you’re prepared for exactly what awaits you at T-Mobile Park when it comes to food, bags, cameras, and other often-banned items. And remember that Bounce will take the stress out of navigating the T-Mobile bag policy because we’ll take care of everything you don’t need. Just don’t forget to bring your baseball glove to catch a fly ball!
