Barcelona Nord has an extensive history that stretches back to 1862, and the station was given many purposes over the years. For the first 110 years, Barcelona Nord was Barcelona’s primary railway station. The city changed its railway routes, and Barcelona Nord went unused for over a decade.
The 1992 Summer Olympics led to a revival of the station, and the facility became a venue for that year’s table tennis competition. City officials added a police station, and the station’s architecture received a much-needed facelift.
Today, Barcelona Nord provides consistent service throughout Catalonia and other regions of Spain. The station gives passengers a comfortable journey with shops, restaurants, cafés, ATMs, free WIFI, power stations, and several waiting areas.
Passengers have easy access to the Barcelona Metro and regional rail system that serves the community. Calle de Alí Bei connects passengers to the bus station, and lifts are available to help those with physical limitations.

La Sagrada Familia: Roughly a 15-minute walk from Barcelona Nord, La Sagrada Familia is Antoni Gaudí’s signature masterpiece and one of the world’s greatest churches ever built. For more than 130 years, tireless architects have laid the foundation for this beloved temple that stands out as Barcelona’s star attraction.
It’s worth pointing out that the UNESCO World Heritage Site still hasn’t even been completed yet. The finishing touches on La Sagrada Familia should be complete sometime this decade. Gaudí took control of the project in 1883, and the talented architect dedicated the remainder of his life to building the basilica. Gaudí utilized Gothic and Art Nouveau styles when designing the structure, and advancements in technology have helped speed up the project’s final phases.
One of the primary challenges that architects face is the addition of several spires that symbolize iconic figures from the New Testament of the Bible. In total, La Sagrada Familia will contain 18 spires, and they are one of the defining features of the building’s exterior. Three elaborate facades represent different elements of Christianity, and the church’s interior dazzles visitors with its central nave, towering columns, and beautiful stained-glass windows.
Before entering the basilica, the staff checks all bags and personal items, and storing your luggage near Barcelona Nord Bus Station saves you time at security checkpoints.
Ciutadella Park: Ciutadella Park is less than a 10-minute walk from Barcelona Nord and one of Barcelona’s most cherished green spaces. The urban park is in the La Ribera district and built on the grounds of the former Fortress of Barcelona. The 70-acre park now features all sorts of cultural and natural wonders that make it a must-see in downtown Barcelona.
Cascada fountain is a beloved symbol of the park that was built towards the end of the 19th century and modeled after Rome’s Trevi Fountain. The Barcelona Zoo houses around 2,000 animals and contains a bevy of plant varieties. Enjoy a peaceful boat ride on the park’s lake, admire brilliant sculptures, or visit the park’s museums to learn about zoology, geology, and other natural sciences.
Teatre Nacional de Catalunya: One of Barcelona’s newer attractions, Teatre Nacional de Catalunya features three theatres that host plays, concerts, festivals, and other public events. Ricardo Bofill was the brains behind the project, and construction of the postmodern building finished in 1996.
The facility boasts a lively atmosphere the greets guests live music, food, drinks, and fun-filled activities. High-quality plays fill the calendar, and talented cast members delight audiences with their skills. The facility hosts a wide range of performances, and the artistic visuals heighten the appeal of each show. Pack a lunch and have a picnic beside the theatre’s blooming gardens while you soak up Barcelona’s sunny skies. Beautiful architecture surrounds the flora outside, and visitors often socialize at outdoor events.
Convenient to the Met, which does not allow luggage at coat check. Very easy check in and check out process, with lovely people at the front!
This was so cool!!!! Great service, extremely easy to use, and totally affordable! I didn't know where I'd leave my luggage while we explored San Fran, so I easily Googled luggage storage and found this company. At first it was a little odd dropping my bag off at a chocolate store, but the lady at the register was able to immediately pull up my reservation without any problems and then she put a lock on my suitcase and gave me a card to get it back with. She pushed the bag to the back of their storage room and I came back about 6 hours later to pick it up. Great service, I will definitely be using this again when I travel!
Can’t believe I haven’t used this service until now. So easy & convenient. I 100% recommend.
I used Bounce during a recent trip to NYC, and I was pleasantly surprised at the ease and convenience of the process. To be honest, at first, I was very apprehensive. The thought of leaving your stuff at a random store, in a place where you are not from and you don't know whether is safe or not, it doesn't matter if anyone gives it a seal of approval, its difficult to be completely comfortable with the idea. However, I was very glad to be proven wrong. The place I chose was a great, clean bodega/deli in Soho and they were very responsive and the whole process felt very seamless. It was our last day in NYC and we had the full day before leaving the city, however our Airbnb was on the upper east side so we did not want to have to go back and forth. I would definitely recommend Bounce for travelers, especially when you need a place to just store your luggage for the day. The price could not be beat (since its for the whole day) and I will definitely be using this again!
Fantastic experience with Bounce! Stored a bag at the Grand Central location and on my last day at the 9/11 Memorial location. Both locations had friendly, efficient staff that were helpful and made everything very easy. Such a great option if your hotel isn't ready or you don't want the hassle of a bag in the city. Great, safe option. Thanks Bounce!
