About Florenc

Tourists looking to travel around the Czech Republic will likely pass through Florenc Metro Station. This expansive transport hub is the largest in the city, offering bus routes to most major cities across the continent. The train station at Florenc Metro serves as a connection between Line B and C metro subways, two of Prague's main routes. Florenc is also the name of a small district surrounded by some of the city's best sights. The metro station is located conveniently just a short drive from the center of Prague, making it a great place to drop off your bags while exploring the city.

Florenc station was founded in 1974 with the development of Prague's metro system. The metro was originally conceived as a tram system, but as underground trains became more popular across the Soviet Union, the plan for the city's transport system changed. Florenc was initially known as Sokolovská, and the name wasn't changed until 1990, a year after the country overthrew its communist regime. Many stations at the time had their name changed to reflect neutral political ideals.

Today, Florenc stands as one of the biggest and busiest stations in the Czech Republic. The station has many useful amenities, including internet cafes, fast food restaurants, shops, and even showers.
