The fairytale city of Prague is truly like something out of a storybook. From the moment you set foot in the city, you will be surrounded by cobblestone streets, charming buildings and street markets that are just perfect for browsing. With so much to offer, Prague often makes it onto European itineraries. This means the Prague Airport sees a lot of traffic consisting of both domestic and international travelers.
The Prague Airport is the main airport in the country and offers a range of flights across the Czech Republic, Europe and further abroad. The airport was built to replace Kbely Airport and was first opened in 1937. It has been renovated and extended many times over the years (most notably in 1956, 1968, 1997 and most recently, 2006), with this evolution resulting in the busy, modern airport it is today. The airport was renamed ‘Vaclav Havel Airport’ in 2012 after Vaclav Havel, the man who was the first president of the Czech Republic and also the last president of Czechoslovakia. It is located about seven miles from the city center of Prague, making it easy to get to and from the area.
Prague Airport has all of the amenities you would expect from a modern airport and you are sure to be quite comfortable during your time there. Located close to Prague City Center, it is quite easy to head into the city if you find yourself on a stopover at Prague Airport. Consider making the most of your time by heading into the city to experience the storybook charm for yourself.

With Bounce, you don’t have to worry about your bags. Drop your bags off at a luggage storage facility in Prague for however long you need, and head out to do some exploring, then pick them up when you’re ready for your flight. It’s that simple.
A stopover at Prague Airport means you’ll be limited by time but there is still plenty to do that will make a visit to the city worth it. If you happen to have a few hours, or even a day, we recommend taking a look at these attractions and activities.
Petrin Hill: Located on the Vltava River, Petrin Hill offers exceptional views over the city. You’ll quickly recognize it by a small version of the Eiffel Tower, a structure you can also climb for extra height.
Walking tour: There are so many walking tours available in Prague and it’s a great way to learn more about the city in a short amount of time. You might opt to see the tourist sites or join an educational tour to learn about Prague’s history.
Dining: With so many great restaurants and cafes, it will be difficult to choose a place to eat. Old Town Square offers a range of tourist options, but if you wander a little further out you will be rewarded with more authentic choices.

Convenient to the Met, which does not allow luggage at coat check. Very easy check in and check out process, with lovely people at the front!

This was so cool!!!! Great service, extremely easy to use, and totally affordable! I didn't know where I'd leave my luggage while we explored San Fran, so I easily Googled luggage storage and found this company. At first it was a little odd dropping my bag off at a chocolate store, but the lady at the register was able to immediately pull up my reservation without any problems and then she put a lock on my suitcase and gave me a card to get it back with. She pushed the bag to the back of their storage room and I came back about 6 hours later to pick it up. Great service, I will definitely be using this again when I travel!
