The oldest park in Australia, Hyde Park is probably one of the most well-known throughout the country, and an absolute must-see when visiting Sydney. With over 39 acres of pristine green space right in the middle of the city, people come from all over to enjoy the natural beauty of the park. Pack a picnic, snag some tasty carry out, or bring the fixings for a cook-out and claim a spot for a scenic meal. Relax on a blanket spread across the grass or settle onto one of the benches throughout the park. You can even bring your sunscreen and stretch out to soak up some rays. 

Stroll along the well-maintained footpaths of the northern section of Hyde Park and stop at some of the monuments found throughout. Information plaques can be found at each monument for a brief history lesson. Sit and watch the water running through Archibald Fountain, depicting a bronze of Apollo surrounded by dolphins, tortoises, and horse heads. The fountain was a gift from J.F. Archibald. Make your way to the southern part of Hyde Park and admire the Pool of Reflection and the Anzac Memorial.
