You really can't miss this one. Since it's located inside the city's main train station, it's easy to get here from just about anywhere in the city and beyond.

National Museum of Denmark

The museum covers 14,000 years of Danish history from the earliest hunter-gatherers up to the present, and it uses its rich exhibits to tell the story of this European powerhouse through the ages. Plus, there are exhibits on the history and culture of other countries from around the world, so you can take a trip around the globe without leaving the center of Copenhagen.

As you might expect, this is one of the best museums in the world to explore the fascinating history of the Vikings. But there's so much to do here that you could easily spend all day wandering through the exhibits and learning more about the history of the world.

How to get to the National Museum of Denmark

Denmark's National Museum is less than 300 meters from Tivoli Gardens, making it a walk of only a few minutes to go from one to the other. Likewise, it's only a short walk of around 15 minutes from Copenhagen Central Station. You can also take the subway from the station to Radhuspladsen, then walk for about 500 m from there to the museum.
